Bubble King Skimmer Club

Jeremy

Here are a few shots of the skimmer after a few days running as you suggested. I have really increased my bio-load so I do feel there should be more skimmate than is being produced. I will have the air flow meter next week and hopefully be able to eliminate that as a problem.

What should the air draw be?

Again, many thanks.

I have a chance to pick up a BK 250 deluxe internal new and was wondering how you can tell if it is the latest model and what the difference is between the old and new models and if it would be an old model what would be the cons of it?
Thanks for any help as I am not familiar with the particulars of this model.

So I'm having a very hard time keeping my skimmer adjusted. I want it to skim very dry and I'm thinking I might need to lower the water level in the sump. Would this help?

Yes, I would lower it in 1/2 inch increments till you get your desired skimmate.

So I just hooked up a Dwyer meter to my 160 mini intake to get a baseline of air intake. 34 SCFH !!!!! thats 963 L/HR not the 660 L/HR they advertise :)

I'm having som eissues with my bubble king mini 180 gen 2 and would like to some help. I have it on a 140 gallon system thats a frag system. THe skimmer is in 8 inches of water. well my collection cup will be empty in the morning and then I come home from work and it's overflowing. it does this every three days or so. I'll empty it and it will stay empty for a few days and then bam full. Shouldn't it be constantly pulling gunk out. It's also really wet skimmate also. my thinking is it needs to be lowered a bit more in my sump. Since the skimmer intake it not at the base the intake is only in about 5" of water but the skimmer as a whole is in 8". I also have the water line about 1" below the max water line level and it still filled up today. If you guys could help me out I'd greatly appreciate it.

Im gonna try it out tomorrow. Just tonight i empties the cup then left the house for 4 hours and when i came home it was full. It basiclly just tank water with a slight brown tinge. I want to see some of that black gunk. Oh i should also mention this skimmer has been on this system since sept. So it should be broke in

Not much, but like to see some picture of it in action, I actually ordered one and on its way here. I guess because of only $100 less than the 300 EXT and everyone go for the 300 instead of 250. I had the 300EXT and 400EXT now I am back with the 250 EXT.

I was going to get the Deltec TC3070S. But when I personaly look at one at House OF Fins in CT, I was disappointed.
