Where were those at?

After further research, i believe it is a zoanthid eating nudibranch. I believed at first the things on side were legs and not what nudibranchs have but really need a magnifying glass to confirm.

Not to bad, just needed some bacon and garlic salt

I remember the days of growing that stuff. Pod heaven. Cut it way back so you dont have to worry about it going sexual.

How is the Cone 3 working? I am surprised it is allowing the Caulerpa Tax to grow.

Yea i do try to keep it cut back, lights on 24/7 also help prevent it from goin sexual. Cone 3 has not changed its output since establishing this grass bed. Only noticeable difference is
A. More pods
B. more pods
C zero nitrates
D. Lower phosphates. My eyes cant determine if red sea test kit is reading .00 or .02 or .04 and did i mention:
E. more pods

Happy to report that i had a problem cause things were good. A while ago, last year? I had placed a small frag of gsp and a small frag of pink palys on a large rock about 7 inches long. Both frags grew well but the gsp smothered the palys and list a few. Today i broke the rock in half and relocated a safer place for the gsp to spread. I the pic u see the paly or two being smothered by the gsp.

Man I never knew that could happen. Maybe the reason I was told to place it on a rock by itself and keep away from other rocks. As for the Cone 3, is it not producing enough foam because of all that macro algae you got there?

One would think skimmer production would be less but i have not noticed any changes.

I love your sea of macro algae. I hope to have something like that one day

Yea it is pretty neat in person and its not something i planned at all. I would never had set it up if i didnt come across the frag tank (6'x2'x8") for sale for $20.

I also must say your build is very informative and your sea of macro is awesome as well.

Thanks. Thats what its all about. Tank has had its problems and pitfalls from the beginning including receiving new tank with scratches and an air dot, to me dropping 180 gallon tanks, to putting a predatory crown conch in with and kill a 7" deresa. But, in the end, its a thriving system and continue to learn how to improve.

Im in Levittown. I would love to stop by and check out your tank. I have a custom 180 gallon sps dominated tank and your welcome to stop by anytime.

What type of frag tank is that? I would love to do something similar but a little smaller for the 220G project I am working on.

I found these on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Frag-Tanks-coral-aquarium-saltwater-fish-reef-gallons-/151180517798?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item23330fa1a6 and was thinking of getting one of to make a grass bed. What types of grass did you consider and what made you settle on that type?
