Buildup of a 210 gallon Reef

I see, I am running a Dart connected to an OceansMotion as a return and the overflow is keeping up with no problem. I was thinking of maybe switching it out for a HammerHead and ditching the idea of using the penductors in a closed loop. Hopefully the overflow will keep up if not i'll cut up the teeth like you did :). I hope at that time the two 1" drain will be able to keep up if not i'll have to use the 3/4 " as a drain as well.

BTW, do you have a pic of your filtration system?

What kind of lights are you using? I apologize if it is buried somewhere in this thread already. The colors really pop! Beautiful tank.

Hey thrlride - that tank looks great! Awesome corals. Did you start with good size colonies or did those grow from frags? I only have a tank full of frags mostly :(

Thanks rdmpe.

Most of these frags started out at about 1" size and some were a little larger. It's taken a while to get here, that's for sure.

Your corals are almost as lazy as you - you slacker.... ;)

Kidding of course - Ryan is a very busy guy, and a hell of a system admin...

And his bowel movements smell like fresh baked cinnamon rolls...

Seriously though - tank looks great.

Nothing too special with this update but here are some pics....

I replaced the ASM skimmer with an H&S model. This is 3 hours of skimmate:

A rainbow monti I've had for several months showing slow growth.

looks a little hot in there! :smokin:

Whenever I feel the need for a sauna I just picture a contortionist, bend up like a pretzel and hop in my stand. :)

It's quite humid in there too, notice what I think is mold on the side?

great looking tank, are you happy with the h&s?

So far I am. I've only had it on the tank 24 hours and it has already skimmed about 1" of skimmate out. I'm still trying to dial it in to where i want it too.

yep, looks like mold. did you seal the inside of the stand with anything?

I primed and painted the inside of the stand and siliconed the seams. I also used the 2 part epoxy on the floor.

I fixed the problem with the stand temperature though, I took the thermometer out. LOL

Here's a few more pics to compare the size of the deresa to the new squamosa.

Possibly a better pic:
