Holy smoke ! Looks like it's doing great! Did they send a purple one or are those your lights making it appear purple ?

I have one coming tomorrow. We'll see if it even comes close to the one you got. My last one (which I still have) I got from Live Aquaria had a pretty badly damaged foot. I treated it for close to 2 months before putting it in my main tank. I've had it since 2013 and it is doing wonderful. I have my hospital tank and Meds ready to go. I've emailed and messaged BZ 3 separate times now asking about these nems. I've gotten no response which makes me a little nervous. We'll see how things turn out.

I ordered a tan from BZ a couple months back. Order arrived and it was green Haddoni but they shipped a Gig the next day after I emailed them. Treated the Haddoni and its now residing in my 120. Gig arrived fairly bleached and had to be treated but it's doing great now. Regaining zoax and steadily growing.

Had a small BZ green Gig arrive last Friday that is currently in treatment and is responding well. Wish I had ordered two of the greens now.

When I ordered it didn't specify any color so I assume it'll just be a tan one. The one I got from LA actually said tan....if I remember correctly. I have my Cipro ready and waiting !

I've ordered about 6 of these throughout the course of a year. Unfortunately only one made it, but it was the last one I received and it's thriving. The first ones I received arrived in terrible shape, and the last one was in great shape and though I QTed it, it didn't need Cipro. I think either collection practices have gotten better or new collection sites were found that allows for the nems to be transported stateside quicker. I'm seeing more and more smaller gigs at a more frequent rate.

The caveat to the good news is that many of the small ones I received appeared to not respond to Cipro and all would eat, remained colored up. but slowly withered away. If given the option of a small or medium, I'd spend more money on a medium one.

All of the gigs not marked as a color are tan, but the color within the tan varies a lot. Some are simply tan, but others I received were mixed with green and turquoise.

Best of luck with your gig. I'm so happy to see so many healthy gigs. When I first started collecting them only a handful were thriving, and it was rare for a tank to have more than one.

Fingers and toes crossed and Cipro on hand just incase it needs it. Hopefully it won't, but I suspect it probably will. Haven't had one yet that didn't need it, but I'll take getting lucky on this one! Lol

I go ahead and treat regardless of how they look upon arrival. Odds of success are much greater the earlier you catch the infection ime.

That's about how the tan I received looked and its reaction to Cipro pointed to an infection caught early. Same can be said for the green Gig I just received from BZ which is almost through with treatment.

I guess no matter what, treatment won't hurt it. I'll start the first round this evening.
