is it going to require a crazy amount of 2 part? i dont feel like mixing up every 2 weeks a gallon.... thererfore i am thinking calcium reactor....

calcium reactor vs 2 part pro / cons?

I'd go with a calcium reactor. I'm facing the same problem after upgrading to a 180. The amount of 2-part that I'm using is really impractical.

reactor. but you might not need it right away. just depending on the amount of coral you put in the new tank. also, some people still dose a little while using the reactor. jsut to keep up with the demand. (depends on the size of the reactor.)

I mix 4 gallons and it will last me 2 months even @ 300 ml for Ca and Alkalinity
The best thing I ever did next to Tunze.

I went back to dosing , and I love it . I had a super big calcium reactor , and it would be good for a while , but then it would go out of whack . PH would bounce too much . I went with the BRS pumps , and woods timers , and wow what a difference . I am dosing 3 part Cal. , Alk . , and Mag . Everything is more stable . I had problems with my calcium , when I was on vacation , and the person I had looking after my tank , knew nothing about calcium reactors . I am very happy with my Bulk Reef Supply System .

BTW , I have nothing to do with BRS , I am just a very satisfied customer .

What about kalkwasser on your top off water with 2 part additives?

This is my method and I really like it... I dose kalkwasser with a tunze osmolator daily and 2 part additives about twice a week only.

I use two part in my 200 gallon tank. I use 8 gallon Jerrycans that have to be refilled every few months. Besides that I use a Kalkwasser reactor for evap water.
I think two part is a realistic alternative for large (+200 G) tanks.
