Calcium reactor

Ok. So I'm getting quite a few corals in my 150g and (mixed reef) and I want to save money on dosing. From everything I have read here, a calcium reactor is the way to go for a bigger tank. I have seen many brands but I want opinions from you all.

I love by Geo Ca reactor. Has been running almost 10 years now without a hitch. I highly recommend incorporating a pH probe to monitor it and help get it dialed in.

I just invested in a Dastaco. Pricey but I’ve tinkered with other reactors with bubble counters. This was by far the easiest setup I could have imagined. Ive never used a GEO so don’t know how easy those are. I’m extremely happy with it. If you’re into this for the long haul invest wisely!

Simple is best IMO.
A decent reverse flow reactor, a decent peristaltic pump to feed water through it, and a ph probe connected to a controller to control the ph inside the reactor. Don't even need a bubble counter other than to see that c02 is actually being fed.

Just have to check Alk every few days and adjust as necessary... but once dialed in they don't need much tinkering.

I have had a small Korallin, a large Reef Octopus and now an Aquamaxx T3 for my heavily stocked SPS tank.

I have only had the Aquamaxx 2 weeks but am VERY impressed with it and would strongly recommended it. The design makes maintenance a breeze.

Virtually everyone recommends the one they have. Look for recommendations from people who have a chance to make comparisons.

I forgot to add, having used most in the past (2 of which melted my acros), I will never use anything but the "Carbon Doser" [Aquariumplants.com] to dose CO2 through my geo reactor. That with a reliable feeder parastaltic pump and I check my Alk about once a quarter [then only with decreased growth or a change in pH on the reactor probe]. Do not skimp on your reactor: it will make or break an SPS system IMO.
