I have been reading this site and probably spending too much time on it. Other than Randy solution which other 2 part calcium suppliment has everyone has success with?

ESV
Kent Tech CB Part A & B
C-balance

i'm using the following;

kent turbo calcium to boost Ca levels when needed
kent coral builder to boost Alk when needed
top off with kalkwasser to keep things in check.

Pretty much everything is the same. As long as you're dosing calcium and alkalinity it really doesn't matter which supplement you use. Personally, I prefer the Seachem brand (advantage calcium and reef builder) because it maintains magnesium and strontium at appropriate levels as well as calcium and alkalinity.

You have to control magnesium or you will have difficulty maintaining alkalinity and calcium. That being said, bionic works well, ESV works well, homemade works well. Other brands work well. Take your choice.

Your question is a touch unclear
A two part sytem supplements both alkalinity and calcium

A calcium supplement just adds calcium

I use b-ionics two part
If I need to bring up the alk I use kent Super dKH
If I need to bring up calcium and mag I use kent turbo calcium and kent Tech-m
You are better to bring these levels up first to where you want them and then use a two part system to maintain the levels.

There are many successful people using each of those two part systems. I'd personally tend toward B-ionic as I tend to trust ESV more than most other reef chemical supply companies.

what ---your not endorsing Randy's two part;) :D

I would love to try it but I don't think that I am at that stage of knowledge of trying something out. So in other words I am scared. I was just looking for something that would cover most of the basic when I add calcium. Currently, I just add mag once a week and then the regular seachem product. If feels like I have to add many different things every few days to keep my ca2,KH and mag steady

Yes, some a two part or limewater are good best. :)

I let it speak for itself. :)

I have outlined a step by step method for initiating two part -ionics on this thread

It is actually something to try then not try if you are the least bit scared at this point. Two part systems take the worry out of having to dose for each parameter separately

and for sure it does;)

the only time I do not promote it is in cases where the novice reefer is reluctant to even do the mixing, so a prepared solution like b-ionics is easier for them to initially use.

I figure once they "get their feet wet" :D and feel confident to do some mixing then they will gravitate to your two part system(s)

Calcium

Calcium

capn_hylinur,
Yes I am new to this SPS advanture. When I become a better chemist I may try Randy's idea.

Also I look at your link and good stuff.

great---but Randy's is the best and the cheapest to produce

when you buy the two part--as for the concentrated jugs. You just have to add ro water to the jugs. It is alot cheaper this way
