Calvin415's ADA 60-P Build

Still making it up as I go, but it will be minimalistic... Strategic rock placement, coral selection, and hope to put in a pair of bangaii cardinals to do the funky dance. ;). I haven't used this model of Sicce before but everyone seems to love them and the videos are remarkable so I figured I'd give it a shot. The larger ones have mixed reviews but couldn't find anything bad about these smaller ones.

Tank arrived tonight, I do have to say these ADA tanks are a freaking work of art! Not sure I will be able to convince myself to ever use anything except one of these tanks ever again, I am truly speachless at the craftsmanship, I wish I had the tools to build tanks like this.

I would love to see the turf scrubber.

Will do as soon as it's built... Was going to get started on it today, but not looking like I'm going to have time now. :(

Very nice. Looks similar to my build. Did you end up drilling for a sump?

Not yet, but I will be drilling it. :( Almost a crying shame to put a hole in something this perfect!

FedEx was here this morning and left a nice gift. ;)

And tank/skimmer size comparison, the cord on this skimmer I swear is 25' long! LOL

These lights are so cool!!! I wish I could afford more than 1. LOL!

I wanted to show how the thunderstorm setting works, but my camera has a hard time with it. The lighting strikes too fast for the camera, 3 strikes show up as just 1 big white blur. Not to mention the camera keeps changing it's light sensitivity so you can't tell how dim the light is actually getting when the clouds come. :( But if anyone has the chance to see it in person, it is sweet!!! Just be careful, it might give you an epileptic seizure according to my wife. LOL! The lightning is bright when you're eyes adjust to the lower light levels.

Calvin, I was curious how you mounted the 80/20 aluminum in the wall. I am doing a similar mount for a 40 breeder. I was going to mount a routed 32" board, painted to match my molding and anchor that to the wall. From that board I was going to add my extruded aluminum peices but I like what you have done here. Thanks in advance.

Is this tank where your 157 went?

Very nice btw. I always enjoy reading your builds and wish I had your skills.

Umm... sweet!

Thanks (again). ;)

I shoved it through the wall (drilled first) into the chase where I attached it with a couple of screws into the adjacent 2x4. I'll work on getting a picture of this for you.

Thanks! Yes, I sold the 12'er and down sized to this. Enlarged the stand into a bar and tiled the top (still to be grouted).

Nice clean set up. Looking forward to seeing the progress.

Thanks!

are you going to use a garden mat under this? did you get the tank from adg?

Not sure what will be under the tank yet but there will be something for sure... Plumbing logistics are the issue at hand and that will determine what I put under the tank. Yes I got it through ADG.

Almost forgot, I did also get the Sicce Syncra 2.0 yesterday, so while I have some bar items to finish up the only thing left to do for the tank is, drill the tank, build and install an overflow box, and build the sump. Lots to do, but that's the fun part!

I finally finished doing the grout on the bar, now I'm just going through and sealing it... Time consuming as I'm trying not to get sealer on the glass tiles. I drilled the tank (side and bottom) and drilled the counter to accept the pipe that will run through the bottom. I think I have my sump designed, and will start building that once it warms up a little, the acrylic is sitting in the work shed waiting to be cut.
