Camera Question

Sice my kiddo carried off my point and shoot digital camera I have been looking into a digital Rebel XTI. But today while hitting the clearance rack at Sears I came across a canon A520. Not very high on the MP list but for the price I could not pass it up. Besides it gives me a cheap camera I can keep in my truck and not worry about theft.

Now to the question

Has anyone used a macro lense with an adapter on a point and shoot? If so which one did you use and do you like it or not. I am covered when I get the Rebel since I already have a nice collection of EOS lenses.

I don't know much about that specific camera but you can find the minimum focus distance for macro in the user's manual. Were you using a tripod? If shooting macro it's always best to use a tripod since every vibration/movment is magnified.

The macro adapters work pretty well but they are limited. There is usually only a certain range on the zoom where they will work (be in focus). When I shoot macro on a point and shoot I try and keep it zoomed all the way out. If I need to get in closer I crop the photo to the area I want before I resize it. hth

I am a big supporter of the macro adapter kits -- I have one that I use alot. However, that is with a DSLR camera, no experience with a P&S.
