Can a clown "wear out" his anemone?

I have a tomato and a GBTA that paired up within 2 minutes of both being added to the tank. The tomato is literally in the anemone 98% of the time, very rarely do I see him out of it. I've seen the anemone spit the clown out twice now, kind of like he wanted to be left alone for a bit. How much time does a clown normally spend in an anemone? Do I need to get a second anemone for him so the other one gets a rest?

As long as the anemone is about 2 or 3 times bigger than the clown, and he is not biting the tentacles he should be fine.

Actually biting tents is normal, but yeah, the nem should be 2-3x the size of the clown, and yes, they can love it to death.
Sometimes people cover w/ something like a strawberry basket and feed well till nem grows a little more.

Mine has gone threw 3 so far. She seems to aggrivate them to death. She drags them all over the tanks and plays with them. I finally gave up. It's been a year so I might try it again. She did the same thing with the brain.

I have seen maroons bite tentacles in half, my maroon has been gently with mine. I have three gbtas, and it goes from one to the other.

Yes they can wear out an anem. Especially Maroons and Saddlebacks.. If yours is too rough you may have to do something about it..

He doesn't look to be too rough with it, it's just constant. I'm considering a second anemone, kind of a vacation home.
