As the title says, Can a Sea Hare (Aplysia sp.) carry Ich? I have one about to land on my door step, so inquiring minds would like to know.... Thanks in advance!

Not so much on it but could be in with the water.

Hard to do but every wet, fish, algae sea hares, should go through a QT process.

I always qt my fish, I'm just not much of an invert guy, so I had to ask. My thoughts were after a long acclimation I would do multiple dips, in separate containers, with fresh tank water; thinking, being that none of the transport water would enter my DT"¦

Sea Hare is a pretty slow moving animal, so I suppose it is possible that an ich cyst could get stuck to it ..... seems unlikely, but I guess it's possible. Not a 'carrier' in the sense that it could get infected with ich though.

If you have the patience, I recommend scrubbing each & every snail/hermit shell with a toothbrush. BUT not your own... use your wife's or kid's when they're not looking. :spin1:

Not sure how a hare would respond to a deep tissue massage, perhaps dips and rinses would suffice; at least I hope so, sounds like a gamble… What to do!

To bad my son and his fiancée recently purchased a home and moved out, I’d scrub a lot more than that with her tooth brush, the toilet comes to mind, but I missed that opportunity… Unless!

Don't forget to TTM your wife and kids after the cross-contamination!

QT, QT, QT. I have a simple 10g tank for inverts/non-fish. 12 weeks isn't too bad. Gives a little 1-on-1 time with the new inhabitants as well, they will love you more :)
