Can coral survive 48_72 hours in a bag?

So I want to order some corals from the USA. But I live in Costa Rica.

It would take from 48-72 hours to get here.

What I'm ordering are some zoas and a chalice to begin with.

You think it would be OK?

Thanks in advance.

I can't speak for zoas (I am not a fan... I know I am wiered) I think the biggest issue is the time of the year. It's hot outside here in Texas we are hitting 100 ° almost every day for the last several weeks. Most of the coral packages are designed to say cool for 24 hours. So if they will be in there for 48 - 72 hours they will most likley over heat and die. I would auggest waiting if you want to place an order online. I definitely do not place any online orders in Aug. due to the heat. I had an over night order go wrong, the order too 6 days to get to me (long story short it was my fault) it was about $200 order all that survived was a single mushroom. The order was primarily acropora and a few mushrooms.

You might actually phone the dealer and explain, and ask if double icepacks would be a possibility. Corals can take chill down to around 63 degrees..and that might get them through, ditto definitely shipping in styrofoam boxes with cold packs. I've seen a lot of things at airports---baggage in transfer sitting on carts going nowhere for a significant time---it's a bit of a gamble, but corals are tough, and the zoas, that can seal themselves up are pretty resistant to damage.
