As the other thread about shell disease mentions my G. Tern currently has brown shell disease. And I was curious if my lighting could have contributed to his problem. As the tank is otherwise very healthy and has great water quality.
My system consists of two 15 gallon tanks plumbed together with one being the sump and the other the display. I have a 96watt T5 light on the display tank and until recently I have been running a pretty long photo period of 11 hours. Could this contribute to shell disease? I plan on dropping my photo period down some reguardless of the outcome of the current situation but I don't want to nurse my current mantis to health or get another mantis just to have the situation repeat itself.
Thanks,
David
