they are real healthy so no issues. I've seen random expells like this but today there were several of the polyps doing it

Wow, not seen that before!
BTW, Hi! heheheheh
Are those new (well, since November/December when we bought xenia)?

Next time someone says zoas don't have mouths, this should be posted!

hey SushiGirl :)

they are not new but have been growing like weeds
some of my zoas definitly have mouths and others just a small nub in the center

I have had mine do that before(before my hippo tang devoured the lot), they kind of turn inside out for few days afterwards.. then back to normal. possibly just expelling waste

expelling waste/zooxanthellae. Do anything different lately?

I was doing a partial water change when I noticed it but I had just started pouring in 5g of water, so if it was due to that, it must have responded almost instantly.

they never inverted or closed, and are now normal looking

It always happen right after a good water change and they are real happy and pooping. Mine polyps did it all the time.

Zoa's are making a donation ...#2

Thanks for sharing that video.. Dont be shy share some more. thats awsome. i feel like im in the tank bro :smokin:

My candy apple reds do this as well, I noticed that they do this when I change the amount of light they receive. Its weird, they are the only ones I have seen doing this. I have heard before that they are expelling zooxanthallea. Who knows?

Every once in a while some of my tubbs will do this if I do a big WC or change something. They bounce back after a day as if nothing happened.
