Cannon D7 or Rebel T1i

Whats the big difference. Was on line with B&H.
They stated something about noise ?????
There is a difference of about $1000.00.
Someone Please help.
Looking to shoot tank and also sprint car racing
I see the 100 macro lens is the one to purchase

Put the two in your hands. For most that is all you would need to do. Weather sealing, focus, and iso are why I would say the 7d. but it is a lot of money and if you are not sure. don,t spend the extra.

I am still saving for my 7D!!

The 7D also has a substantially better AF system, which would come in handy for NASCAR.


Both are good cameras but the T1i is entry level consumer, the 7D is entry level professional.

I havent used any digital cameras. I borrowed a point and shoot for a few days . That didnt cut it. Back in days of old, I used to still do have a minolta SRT 101 and a X700 programer . Does this help any ???

There are plenty of differences. If you look at the specs side by side they should become apparent. Some sites like dpreview.com have side by side comparison features for your benefit.

There are big differences in lenses as well. A 100mm macro isn't going to do beans with sprint cars.

if you have the money to spend get the d7, but the t1i is still a good body camera. noise basically refers to the amount of random light getting into the picture, you want the least amount of noise to get the crisp, sharp, poping out pictures.

+1 for 7D, it is also a more substantial camera to hold, the menu systems are pretty intuitive were the t1i is not. i upgraded from an xsi to 7D and had no problem adjusting to, but yesterday in class a girl brought in a new t1i and i couldn't figure out where live view was, and i wasn't impressed with the menu on the t1i at all, seemed like it would be harder to use some settings that are easy to adjust and use on the 7D JMO

Looks like I'm the outcast here BUT, I have the T1i and love it. Once you get to know your way around it, its a great camera.

You might want to hold on a couple of weeks. Canon announced the 550D a couple of days ago which has the 7D auto focus, almost the same sensor, same video and finally auto ISO with manual range AND is still 1K cheaper.
