Status Update....
I have been distracted from updating.....
First, this gouge in the glass;
I have been debating what to do about it.
The ONLY saving grace is that since the tank is 30" deep and the stuff that you focus on is further away, you dont really see it unless you look for it...
HOWEVER, it is still there on a new tank that i expect to have around for a LONG time! anyone what a deal on a slightly used tank?
Second....
QT and new swimmers......
Currently there is a Sailfin tang, Long Nose Hawk, Flame Hawk & Marine Betta in the 375.
I have disconnected the 75gal refugium and have hooked it up to it's original bioball, wet/dry sump and is a QT tank. Then there is the 55 gal QT w/ Fluval 300.
Into the 75;
Blonde Nazo Tang,
Purple Tang,
Achillies Tang
Foxface
Lamarck Angle
4) Anthias
Into the 55;
9) Red Firefish
5) PJ Cardnals
Bluejaw
Not off to a good start....
Losses within the first 7 days...
3) Anthias
all 9) Firefish (apparently a bad batch?)
Bluejaw
Then the Achillies started to show signs of ich and started treating with Cupramine but he didnt last long. found out he had flukes as well.
I started treating the 75 with PraziPro as well.
Foxface and blonde were not looking well at all and the purple was being aggressive so i split them up in the tank w/ egg crate. I think now is payback because the purple looks like crap and the foxface and Blonde are looking great. The purple has not been doing better with Cupramine @ .4 mg/L so i have brought up now to .5 and have re dosed Prazi Pro.
All are eating well sperlina brine & mysis soaked w/ garlic, zoe & selcon.
Now, find out I have somehow cross contaminated the 375 and the sailfin starts to look like he has ich.. :headwally:
I dosed Prazi Pro as well...
Trying a different approach.... taking tank to 84' and 1.018 ppm
it took 3 days to drop the salinity and raise the temp..
the sailfin shows no spots.. yea... 9 more clean days and i can start the trip back to 1.026 / 78'
and there are a few ****ed off corals....
On the bright side...
the 5 PJ cardnals will be ready to go in the 375 one its back to normal!....
AND THEN......
Have had some mysterious deaths in the 125 recently.. spaced out 10 days or so apart..
first..
Fire fish, then an Jester goby, Anthias, then a scarlet cleaner shrimp then the other anthias. the last one gills were open wide.. I did a 40 gal w/c and noticed little worms on the body of the anthias when soaked in FW. so i dosed them with Prazipro as well...
Did another 45 gal w/c today and fingers crossed!
thanks for reading!!!
SMILE!
