captive bred clarion angels?

here is one...pic is 6 days old...might be just under 3cm...

Wow...6 days old and already 3cm. Talk about being super delicate. Do you know if they'll be sold through wholesalers here in the US then through lfs or if they're selling direct?

sorry for the confusion...you are gonna love this..
the clarions are not in the country yet...they were bred by the same great folks that gave us the tb annularis earlier this year...
the clarion eggs were found in their angel pool and initially they weren't sure what species they came from...they have multiple species in the tank..
they were born about 8 weeks ago, give or take...
the above pic is the most recent they sent...
last they said was that 2 batches are to be shipped out, no numbers provided, and the 2nd batch is probably bound for the us...
in the last week they said 1st batch should go out in a month or so but they are so slow growing, who knows...
here is a run of the pics...
maybe 2 weeks ago...they grow very slowly...
cute...

maybe 3 weeks ago...

maybe 4 weeks ago..

maybe 5 weeks ago...

maybe 6 weeks ago...

there is the date...so about 8 weeks ago and born around 10-12 weeks ago...
cool, huh?
another really exciting thing is that several days ago i got this....

they don't know what it is yet and are not saying which one of their pools it came from...

HOLY MOLY THAT IS AWESOME!!! What great news for our hobby! Thanks for the update! Next cb Conspics?!? How awesome would that be to have a pair of cb Clarions and a pair of cb Conspics in a reef tank. I'm gonna do it if they're available one day...

funny you mention conspics as I left that part of the story out, not kidding...
they are breeding them but having are difficulty getting past day 12...
nothing survives past day 12, well almost nothing, they have 3 cb conspics and are not giving up...they like the challenge and are not going to put out large numbers of clarion but are focusing on conspics...
I did ask why as clarions are $$ they said clarion were easy to breed and for now they are going to focus on conspics...

but, I heard from another who said they got lucky with the clarions are they were a one-off, so, not sure what is going on...

Anyway, an hour ago they said first batch is going to uk...
My guess is Ari is getting them..
I asked about batch #2 coming here and am waiting to hear..

these guys are getting very good at all types of captive breeding....might give RCT a challenge in the long run...great for us hobbyist...

Incredibly awesome news and the pictures where just amazing to see!! Thank you for the continued information on these developments.

CB Conspics would be amazing, Conspics are my all time favorite angelfish. I had one several years back that I got from Marine Center, it was about 6 inches and so so beautiful. No picture does them justice.
