According to saltwaterfish its easy to take care of, reef safe, and peaceful. I will try to get a pic up right now... will need to host it first one sec.

This is the beautiful little shrimp.

lol I think thats the first decapitated lego man I've seen used for scale... :D

That is a pretty shrimp... I'm guessing he didn't pair up with your gobie??? Or did you get him for a different reason???

Where ya at Dana? I can deliver him or you can pick him up either way. He came with a used tank and I have no need for him because I already have one in my main tank and whatnot. Beautiful little guy. Just PM me dana and we'll work something out!

I know the Randall's pistol accepts most any gobie... The Tiger pistol is a bit more selective... I'm not sure if any of the rest pair up... I'm pretty sure the Carribeans do not...

I have a bullseye pistol shrimp that has befriended my randall's goby. Bullseyes arent supposed to pair up with gobies and I wouldnt say they are symbiotic but they work together and mostly stay together.

I have two other shrimp/goby relationships in the RSM. I'd hate to be the shrimp! The gobies tell the shrimp to go hide every time I feed.

I'd say my Bullseye is a "liberated" shrimp. And beautiful... (not my pic but a good one)

he's beautiful, squeak! the carib. pistol is in his new home...already found a favorite hiding place. he's very pretty...cool looking.

tangboy, did you try him with a goby?

I haven't had him long enough to try him with a goby so I honestly am not sure. Let me know how things turn out though!

Randall's pistol shrimps naturally (in the wild) pair with Yasha Hashe gobies and yellow rose (high fin red banded) goby.

Tiger pistol shrimps pair with Yellow Watchman gobies (and I'm not sure what else) in the wild.

These are the more natural pairings. I'm not saying other shrimp won't pair with other fish...but for better success it's good to stick with these pairings.

As an example...I had a Randall's pistol shrimp with a yellow watchman goby for years, but my goby wouldn't stick with my shrimp all the time. I'd find him in different parts of the tank, completely away from my shrimp, sometimes for days on end.

It's also good to keep Randall's shrimp with gobies that stay small. Some of those watchman gobies can get HUGE (thinking of Graham's monster watchman) and can actually eat the shrimp.

Anyways...that's your goby/shrimp lesson for the day.

I hope that the shrimp is doing well, he did well in my tank the few days I had him and was pretty active. My tiger pistol is more active then he is but he's prettier then my TPS!

well, he's still alive, cause i see the whiskers, but i still haven't seen him. he's in the 14g, i didn't think there were that many places to hide! hoping he'll get a little braver here soon.

Most shrimp stay hidden and come out to feed at night... I wouldn't count on seeing him too often...

Melly had a pistol that sought refuge in one of her Acros... :)
