Carpet and Bubble Tip

Currently, I have a 25 gal nano with a 5 inch green carpet and 2 clowns. My clowns are not hosting the carpent and I'm thinking about putting a bubble tip anemone instead. Can I put them together?

Sorry but you will halft to choose one or the other . And still I hope you plan on upgrading to a bigger tank for your green.

Now I'm thinking of selling it so I can keep an anemone that will be host by the clowns. Although, my carpet looks really healthy and I hate to lose it

Give them time, they may yet find it. Just because it hasn't happened already doesn't mean it won't.

A carpet and a BTA in a 25 gallon tank sounds like a bad idea. In that small of a tank, it would be better to keep only one species. If you like your carpet, perhaps you could trade in the clowns for a species that is a natural symbiont with a carpet. Todd is indeed right, what species of carpet anemone is it and what species of clownfish?

If the Percula is not hosting the carpet, I would guess it's a Haddoni. Perc's should be all over a Gigantea. Maybe you can trade the clowns for a pair of Clarkii's or Saddle Backs.

I think you're right about that. What would be an indication if its a Haddoni? I don't really see much of a difference between Gigantea and the Haddoni on a picture.

Haddoni is going to have shorter tentacles, will prefer the sandbed, and will have a smooth underside of the oral disc.

M-Benz,

I wouldn't get rid of the carpet just because your clowns aren't hosting it (yet). There is no guarantee that your clowns will host the Bubble either. Some captive bred clowns just don't know what to do with an anemone.

And as far as putting 2 different species of anemones in that small size tank, a definite no-no.
