Carpet anemone and red slime remover?

I'm planning on treating for cyno in a tank that has my carpet anemone in it, going to use Maracyn, has anyone done this without affecting the carpet?

I have never used that stuff with a "carpet", and I personally wouldn't risk it. (( if others have tried it without issue, then take their word for it )).

I prefer to "fix" the issue by doing increased water changes (( with 0 TDS RO/DI water )) while vacuuming up any of the red slime, and generally increase my maintenance.

The Red Slimer Remover dosent work at all.I dont know if it kill my Carpet, but I had newly introduce a Green Carpet from the DD,I has a little bit of Cyano pop up,so I treated with red slim, the normal dosage, and within a week,my carpet went through stages of inflation and deflation. After the first week, the mouth was gaping and the anemone started to fall apart.I dont know if it was the chemical or the anemone its self, but I find it very odd that it done that.

Dont use it.It dosent even work,I had tried it in other tanks and it didnt put a dent into anything.Figure out why you have it.I discovered that my sand bed was feeding it.So every day for 2 weeks I had to move the sand around till my cyano was gone.

The red slime remover has always worked for me when I used to use it but really you should listen to Toddrtrex. The red slime is there for a reason, its a lot better to fix the problem then treating the symptoms. Water changes and regular maintenance should fix the problem.

I just needed to know if carpet anemones are affected by use of cyno killers. I've had a fuge running a week and started running gfo in a media reactor. The cyno started when I
was breeding my Perculas, the baby tanks are in the same system as the 2 50g broodstock tanks and that fueled the cyno and hair algae. The algae's almost gone completely but the cyno still very active.

If you're wondering what's in the reflection of that one tank, it's my sps tank. I use that RODI 0 TDS water in that tank too,

Treat what is causing the red slime, not the slime itself. Increased flow, more water changes, change out old bulbs, and some other things will help you get rid of the slime.

Agree^^, I wouldn't risk it.
I used that stuff once, and it robbed all the color out of my sps, took a long time to come back, and some never really did.
