what food should I use, yhis is my first. I have a marroon clown for it an I have been adding phytoplex an coral accel to tank for other corals will this also satisfy anemone or do I need something else to feed it?

Unfortunately, that will not do much of anything for it. I suggest using meaty foods like pieces of silverside, krill, and the like. Try to feed at least once per week.

Try feeding the above and find which it prefers best. You might also try squid. All my RBTA, GBTA, and Blue Carpet enjoy the squid and I am starting to soak the food in Selcon before feeding. Best of luck, and most of all ENJOY!!!!

no they are not filer feeders they eat fish they need chunks of flesh

i feed silversides soaked in selcon three times a week

do you still have the powercompact lights? carpets need t5HO with individual reflectors or metal halide

I think they can be fed silversides, but I also think you have to chop the SS in half because they can be too big. Table shrimp work aswell, I have heard of many people using this sucessfully as long as there aren't and addetives, although most people are more comfortable with 'natural' foods.

Jumbo Table Shrimp.
works great if they will eat them but if they are having trouble eating, a jumbo shrimp is not a good idea

how about cyclopeeze or marine snow, mysis, will it filter feed out of water?
all of the anemones I have experience keeping will take Cyclopeeze and mysis...

my anemones do not eat cyclopeze but they do eat mysis
cyclopeze is a lil small size for an anemone to get unles it is stuck to the food its eating i feed cyclopeze daily and my nems dont go for it
gary dont take this the wrong way you definetly know more than me

I feed mine silversides, a half a silverside about 3 times a week. God knows what else it catches on its own too. I also put some cyclopeeze in the tank right after the lights go out at night, it seems like the carpets swell up and feed at night too (at least mine does). A lot of other stuff feeds at night too.

I have upgraded to m/h lighting, I got some krill an fed directly to it, what a trip it sucked it right in. I never thought of them feeding like that, even lfs told me that phyto was fine an that they filter feed.
