Advertised as s. gigantea (only 3").
I believe it is a gigantea, but just want to see what you guys think.
Just want to be sure its not an Atlantic/helianthus carpet anemone. Dont want it eating my clownfish (only fish in tank).

That is a Gigantea almost completely sure. I missed it by a few mins, perhaps seconds after you bought it. To know for sure you need to give us a picture of the column. Good luck with him.

Out of curiosity, did you just buy it today? I got the notification when they put it up on 1/18 but figured that someone would have bought it within a few days. Hopefully since it has been in their care for at least two weeks it will be healthy when you receive it. Good luck!

It was sold within a few mins. I was barely 5 mins and it was sold.

Do you have any new picture of him?

This was on BZA had it on my cart overnight and most of the next day... Was trying to see if anyone wanted to go in on an order but it was too late... Wish I should of just paid the $35 shipping charge ... I am voting gig. Good luck with it.

Kris let me know about it but also got the email from BZA. I check it out barely 5 minutes after I got the email from BZA and it was already sold.

that thing is NO way a gigs, judginig from the picture i am very possitive it IS an Atlantic/helianthus carpet anemone. if you did not have it shipped yet cancel it.

then i will order it of course :fun2:

I thought this place was actually very reputable. Ive heard lots of good things.

I definitely received a gigantea, but it is probably not the one I ordered.
I understand different cameras/lighting can make them look different, but mine looks nothing like the one pictured. Mine is bright neon yellow. The stock photo would have shown it being neon yellow instead of green/blue/purple base. Is it even possible I am wrong and these are the same anemones?

Pretty upset if they did switch them on me, I sent them an email so we'll see what they say. I havent heard back yet, so I may be completely wrong. I dont like jumping to conclusions so Ill see what they say and what you guys think here.

This is the picture right when I started acclimation. He looks a little better now. I have cipro, but I am holding off for now.

I've done business there many times but that shouldn't have been shipped, i doubt it changed that much overnight. Was the bag water clear? I see the black.

Based on the color alone, my guess is that it could be the same gig. There is clearly green in the photo, and this could've been taken when they received it. We don't know how it they held it before selling it, do we? It also appears that they ramped up the saturation in the photo, which makes it look greener in the center than it really is. From the time it was put up for sale and then sent to you, it could've bleached even more, resulting in the yellow color. All yellow gigs that I've seen (except for the ones recently imported by Global Reef Supply which are lemon yellow) and have survived eventually turned green when the zoox population returned.

Either way, if the gig pulls through I think it's going to be a nice one, nicer than the original photo IMO.

Get a better picture when he settle down a little. He maybe more bleached after the shipment, also the light they have him under is either 14,000K or 20,000K. It could very well be (likely) the same anemone

The water in the bad was clear. Only poop.
He was extremely sticky.
He is in tank now. I placed him where rock and sand meet and he grabbed on instantaneously and now has is foot buried (somewhere).

Still does not look anything like the picture. I know it had a little green on it, but what happened to the base? The base in the picture looks green, blue, and purple. Mine is tan/yellow and thats it. Regardless of photo editing I dont think its possible to edit mine to look like the stock picture. Based on the sand color it didnt look like they did a lot of editing. My picture is with a point and shoot with basic white balance adjustment. Its more neon yellow in real life. No hint of any other color.

You put him under 20000K light, he will look like the picture. He looks healthy for just got into the tank.

He is actually under 20K Radium and 3 ATI Blue+ and 1 ATI Actinic. Giesemann Spectra.
Still dont see where the blue/purple is going to come from.
