Carpet ID please

Changed the lighting to LED since that's what's in my DT. I also adjusted my PH so the anemone gets more flow. It seems to be doing better with the changes. I'm still treating with cipro.

Minh, I know you recommended septra ds but I had to order it online and should be here by Saturday. I will continue to dose with cipro until I get the new medication in.

At least it is no longer completely deflated. :worried:

He is looking better. i would remove the sand/crush coral. I think the treatment tank should be bare, unless your anemone attach to a rock that you cannot easy get him off.

My anemone is attached to a rock, the same rock from the store. I have a hard time trying to get them off of rocks and asked the store for the rock as well. Do you still think I should switch to Septra DS when it comes in?

He's looking better. Keep the flow going strong enough to blow him a bit. If he's deflating, it might be your lighting. Put a good light on him. A good LED should work as you said. Mine are doing well under T5's and LEDs. Good luck brother!

Good morning dad! Look how good I can look.

Since it's been about 24 hrs of no deflation I will follow the sticky and continue dosing for another 3days and keep up with WC. Then stop the medicine and see how it does for a few days then transfer it back to the DT.

Here's a comparison picture.

How long after treatment stops do I need to wait to start feeding my carpet? The comeback that this piece of beauty has made is remarkable. I thank you all for the help and support!

Glad you hear he's doing well. I feed mine after they have a tight mouth and are inflated again. Like when they're looking happy. I cut off all flow and shoot food directly on are by their mouth. Usually I feed them only a few days after treatment is complete. Others do it different. My logic is that food will help them gain strength, color, and aid in the recovery process.

Once he is back in your DT, and not deflating for a few day, then it is OK to feed him but I would start really slow only increase it if he got good feeding response. Being small I would feed him the equivalent of about .5-1 pencil eraser size piece of fish or shrimp. I would avoid fish food right now. Stick with good fresh fish that is mean for human consumption. That way you know the fish is fresh. Stay away from smelly sea food. Smelly seafood/fish food = spoiled seafood that can kill your anemone.

What about krill? I have a bag of frozen krill from dr g's that I feed to my RBTA.

I would avoid this for now. Give it fresh fish as Orion mentioned -- the soft flesh is easier for the nem to process than than krill. Once it's fully healthy and shows a quick feeding response, then krill is probably okay. I've noticed that nems that are recovering have a slow feeding response. Other fish in the tank may try to steal the food, even clowns.

Still looking good without treatment! I'm extremely happy that he made such a comeback, I will most likely put him in my DT when I get back from work today. I guess this really wasn't a bad deal after all. I picked it up for $50.

I though you treated him with ciprofloxacin but not Septra. Did you mean looking good after treatment?
