Hello, I just picked up a carpet anemone today that I believe to be a Gig. but im not entirely sure. It looked great at the LFS and I thought it was a fairly healthy anemone compared to the stories I hear about the unhealthy ones. The mouth was closed, had nice brown and green coloring, had sticky tentacles and foot was attached and now is attached to my tank's bottom. I tried to look for the bumps or verrucae but i couldn't really find any, and the tentacles are some what longer to me. Ive put a few pics from the mouth to the tentacles. Tell me if you need anymore info. THANKS :bounce3:

Actually I think its a Haddoni now as the tentacles seemed to retract a bit and now the mouth is tighter than when those pics were taken ( which still don't do the nem justice) so is it a haddoni?

Looks like a stressed haddoni to me. The verrucae on a gig are usually purple, so if you can't find any that usually means you have a haddoni.

well yea that was a given as I took those pics like 10 min after acclimating and getting it into my DT but like an hour so later it has a tight mouth and was fairly responsive to light and looking good now. Yea I now am sure it is a haddoni. Thx
