Hi,

I am looking to see pics of your carpets. Please help me out and post the pics of your carpet, old, new, used to have it, before it died............etc..... i want to see them all.

Please carpets only, any species of carpets will do.

Tanks in advance.

This was my first gigantea. I was just getting my feet wet with keeping gigantea. I did not really know how to tell if it was healthy or not at the lfs. At that time, I just want something for my clowns to host it since I've removed all my RBTAs in the tank. And I just found out that gigantea is the natural host for Percula clowns. Long story short, this gigantea didn't last too long. Less than a week....it melt.

My second gigantea was a mistake. Mostly due to my part. A local reefer said that he has two large carpet and is selling one of them. I assumed he has kept them in his tank and is now too large so I jumped on the sale quickly. Upon picking it up, it was in this sump! I asked how long has he had it and he said "it just arrived from the west coast a couple days ago". I knew I was about to throw away two dead Benjamins but didn't want to back off on the sale so I brought it from anyway. It was huge and was doing good for about a week then slowly declined to its death.

Then I took a break from gigantea for a while. Made a few changes in the tank and set my heart into keeping gigantea. Boosted the flow, upgrade the skimmer, and changed my gigantea lighting acclimation habit. I finally got this one about 3weeks ago. It's bleached, yes. But it is small and it's a verocious eater. So far the color is coming in nicely. 3 weeks in now.

i think the 12k Reeflux bulb caused it to color like that. the color is less red and more orange/pink in real life. the foot is not blue it's the reflection of my shirt i think :hmm4:

somehow the blue stripe of my clowns in real life is more vibrant but in this pic it does not show, yet it shows the blue tint on the nem foot :spin2:

Where the heck did you get that magenta/red with blue foot haddoni? Super sweet!

Here is the coolest carpet I have ever had. It was probably only 2"-3" in diameter and like most carpets that small it didn't make it.
When I bought it it looked like this:

A few days later as it began to expand I noticed that it had green tentacles with purple tips! I bought it as a gigantea, but I am pretty sure it was actually a haddoni. Its hard to tell when they are so small. I hadn't seen this color combo before or since.
