Carpet VS. Starfish....WOW

So here is a question, Is it ok for my carpet to eat a gray, sand sifting star? The star wandered a little to close and the carpet grabbed it. Is it ok? My fear is the star will still be alive in the carpets stomach and tear it up. Any one have any history of this? :sad2:

I'm sure the stinging cells of the carpet killed the star before it was digested. They eat things that get to close, its what they do.

Last night at 9:30pm when I went to bed, it was still trying to eat it.
This morning, looked like the carpet won. No star left langing out. All gone. Carpet looks good today. Opening back up. Probly wont have to feed it for a month now!

Just out of curiosity, what kind of carpet is it?

And yeah--pics! ;)

This is an educated guess on my part.

I am going to say that the "carpet" is a Haddoni, since they are sand dwellers, and a sand sifting star stays in the sandbed -- most of the time, until they eat the sand bed clean and have to travel out of it in an attempt to find food.

It seems to be doing well. These are the best pics. we could get, it happened soo fast. The star disappeared before we knew it.
