Catching the damsel

I have a zebra damsel that I'd like to remove from my tank. I tried to catch him at night but he hid in the rock and too fast and too smart for me to catch during day time. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I was trying to catch my Chromis, it was very difficult.

I have not tried it yet, but on the sport fishing boats, they have two long poles with fishnet and kind of circle the bait/squid. At least it could possibly prevent them from swimming behind the rocks.

Has anyone tried making something like this?

Best,
Doug

The best way I know to catch a fish if you have tried the nighttime suprise and the fish trap is to drain the water in your tank into some rubbermaid containers and then it will be easy to catch. I have had to do this on a 120g tank.

Get two algae clips and suction them to the glass with a bag clipped in them just below the water. Then put in a square flat piece of Styrofoam in the bag towards the back to make it open and keep the bag level. It will look like a long horizontal tube. Put food in the back of the bag and wait until the fish you want out goes in the bag.

I have heard of people using barbless hooks and catching small fish by hook and line. Seems like it would work to me :)
