Is this a game of "Will it float?"

Very nice thread. just wanted to let you know, i have been an loyal patron of EVE ONLINE for several years now. Would be a shame if the rest of EVE found out you guys spent our money on a VERY nice fishtank. hehe. Can i have a MS now?

Yeah, me too. I was just thinking about this thread the other day wondering what was going on. It's been a month and no updates. :eek2:

Sorry for the lack of updates but now finally all work required on the room it self are done so I can get on with the tank.

Here are few very recent photos

I can not believe it... the floor is DONE !! It only took a few months but it is done :D

Today I got plywood boards which I am going to use under the sump and extra tank since I do not want to put it straight on the floor. So very soon it will go into the designated fish room and plumbing will begin.

It has been snowing here with frost but we had a few days of 'warm' weather and rain so I used the opportunity to pressure wash the rocks. This should wash all the cement dust and filth that has been in the air due to all the construction work here. You can see in the picture how happy I am that the room is finally rid of construction workers so I can continue working on the tank.

So... now I will update this much more frequently :D

Well things moving forward a bit.

The sump is now in its right place in the fish room and ready for plumbing.

Got a windshield in place with holes for the air conditioning which will blow air into the hood and fish room. I'm getting pipes and air blowers in there soon.

And I have also bought pvc fittings I need to connect the sump to the main tank. I spent a couple of hours today gluing stuff together.

Ok guess I have learned something new then. I've always figured that the bacteria are specific to LR and normal South Dakota air would not provide them.

It's kind of like the bodys normal flora. We come out sterile but have it right after birth. I always found that interesting, we're seeded with bacteria.

Any updates Arnar?

I first started watching this thread when you mentioned it on the Eve Online forums. I've been addicted since and getting really close to pulling the trigger on setting up my first system. Thanks for the inspiration.

It so happens that today I bought all the pipes and equipment for the ventilation system and the rest of pipes I need for connecting the sump to the main tank.

Lately I have been gluing pipes and testing the return pump on a closed loop. Can't wait to see how it performs with more lengths and heights.

My friend who is building the light frame said I would get parts of the frame tomorrow and my other friend who is building the overflow boxes said I will get them next week.

I'm going to take some pictures tomorrow and I will post them here ;)
