CCP's 2000 gallon Deltec reef tank

I never wanted a reef tank until seeing this project. Started following the progress about 6 months ago and to see it all coming together is awsome!

Tried out the webcam today and it is amazing! Since we are just testing out the cam (which worked like a charm for me btw) I was wondering if we could get it moved to the breakroom or somewhere with a bit more action? I think a "behind the scenes" glimpse of the CCP office would be a real treat for EvE players and reef enthusiasts alike.

Looking forward to the next update!
 
You guys can bump your TOTM votes down one. I think I got the first one in a few pages back :) Might be a while til this tank is mature enough for the honor, but certainly a TOTM in the making.

I got help from the guys at CCP with text editing back in December 2004 with my own TOTM.

I'm sure it will be a great TOTM article, but lets wait untill the tank is established and up and running properly.

It will be shipped this week so it should be here early next week if everything goes to plan.

In other news I've been trying to use some of my vacation days but it's so hard to stay away :)

I moved the quarinty tank (500ltrs) into the fish room and plan to get it started soon. You can see it in the corner if you visit the webcam

A fellow reefer and a brilliant plexyglass fishtank builder came to visit and see the tank today. He is going to help me build shallow coral propogation tanks in the fishroom which I will hook up to the big tank which will act as a sump for my frags :D

Well maybe propagation tanks is not the right word. Lets call them grow-out tanks ;)

Couldn't get the webcam working

I am taking great snapshots but not lucky with the video. Motion jpeg or MPEG-4 makes no difference, blank screen only. Am I missing something?

Do you have Java installed ?

I've been working on the dome for the camera so I will put in in the tank soon.
