It is always a pleasure to see photos of your corals! Good luck with the new, larger tank.

My two cents on using Radions. Great lights but limited coverage. Coverage=costly. That is just a trait of the puck design.

I tried an SB Reeflight on my sump. I liked it so much that I bought a larger [$300.00] model and replaced both my Radions. It is giving me the coverage and par of four XR30 G3s.

Personally I am a fan of LED light, so no trying to talk you out of them here.

Wife and I are in process of deciding if we want to build on a lot we have down the bayou (rural to town) or buy a smaller house in town and remodel. She agreed to a 250-300 gal tank, if I build it into the wall. Our current house is 3600 sq-ft and two stories. We want 1500-1800 sq-ft one story. Our oldest graduates high school this year, the second next year and our youngest is in 8th grade. Time to get ready for post kids living.

Tank looks great Connor. Good luck with the new house.

Wow...stunning tank!

Thank you for the info! Yeah, I figure for a 6 foot tank, I'll need at least 4 or 5 radions for good coverage, which would be pretty expensive. I have one on my coral QT and I really like the programability and the look it gives.

Wow, 3600 feet is a pretty big house! The places my wife and I have been looking at are similar to what you want. And yes, 3 grown kids, it's time for you to live it up!
Conor your tank is amazing as ever, I highly look forward to the new tank.

Thanks everyone. Other than a little bit of cyano I've been very happy with the tank lately. I usually get it in my frag tank but rarely in my DT as I have now.

Lets get an update :)

The tank is undergoing some changes right now because my corals have started growing into each other and shading each other. I've removed a few large colonies, the hardest of which to part with was my red dragon. It was growing too large and was blocking flow and shading everything under it. It started almost looking like a pink birds nest so I took a couple frags and traded the rest of the colony. I've also been in the process of rescaping the left side of the tank. To keep everything happy, I think these changes were necessary but it also keeps things interesting. The tank hit two years a few months ago and i'm very pleased with it's progress.

I just bought a house and have a new custom tank sitting in my garage, but it'll be quite a while before we actually move in. I'm so excited, it'll be hard keeping it dry in the garage for so long.

I'll get some more pics up soon, but here's a shot I took recently.

And I got this little guy recently. He's really tiny, about a half inch. He's hanging out in the frag tank with a few of my other baby angels

Conner, that is absolutely ridiculous in all the best ways!:eek1:
There is a solid wall of coral, so very nice!!!

Man i'm so in love with this tank:inlove::inlove:
Really happy to read about the ''problems'' you dealt with conor:)
Wish i will have these problems too in the future!
Happy to read about the new house etc:beer:

Wow I would love to see some macros of these pieces to see up close what they look like. They look super healthy for sure! So beautiful when things are just taking off like that, well done!! I would love to hear more about how you are keeping these or if anything has changed. What do you say the number one thing is that keeps your acros so happy?

Amazing reef tank !

Can't wait to see what you do with the new tank.
Maybe we can get a sneak peak

Crazy nice as always!
Looking forward to more shots.

Everything is looking awesome! If only you lived closer, I would greatly take some of those corals off your hand ;)

Thanks everyone for the very kind comments!

Username Invalid- I'll get a pic of the new tank soon. It's still wrapped in plastic but you'll be able to get the idea. It's a shallow peninsula tank, about 250 gallons. The dimensions are 72"x36"x22" I'm so excited to get it up and running but it's going to be a long time so at least I'll get to thoroughly plan it out. What I don't like about my current tank is I can't access most of it because of it's depth, rock structure, and coral growth. When I set up the new tank I will use less rock and fewer corals so maintenance will be easier. I really like how Andrew (biggles) has his rock work so that everything can be easily moved and all parts of his tank are accessible. I might end up doing something similar.

Piper27- I know it sounds cliche but i've found the most important part of reef keeping for me is keeping everything stable and consistent. I don't chase certain numbers as long as they are in range, but I do try to keep those as stable as I can. I'm a very heavy feeder but I have an oversized skimmer. I believe it's rated for 700 gal. and my display tank is only 190 gal. I dose 2 part and do weekly 10-15% water changes. I also sometimes run carbon in a bag in the sump. There's a bunch of matrix in my sump as well. That's about it.

Congratulations on the house! What size is the custom tank you've got?
