So I put some in my fuge.. about the size of a softball...

Two days go by and I look under the tank at the fuge..

its a damn basketball!!!

good lord :eek1:

I have a 96w PC lamp over the fuge and the stuff is out of control...

im sure I have some nutrients but I didnt think it was that bad... I think the light is contributing quite a bit... its very bright.. its a 4 tube PC lamp that I had from a nano tank 96watt tube

Yeah, Cheato is great. My skimmer is competeing with the chaeto in my FOWLR. The skimmer kicks out tons of nasty skimmate, but the chaeto is growin out of control under some 45 watt pc's. I'm not sure who's winning this battle, but I'm gonna let them keep fighting it out.

The brighter the better. That being said it can work to use much less lighting (even 60 watt flourecent replacement bulbs) but you will export less nutients.

This thread reminded me to trim mine. My fuge is packed with cheato from side to side and top to bottom. This isn't good! Cheato should always be able to roll around in the current and never be densely packed in which is the way mine is right now. I love rinsing the trimmed portions in my display and watching the fish go nuts. I get tons of HUGE pods flying everywhere. It's really cool!

My phosphates and nitrates are both 0 (Salifert)

I pull out a salt bucket full out of my fuge about every 2-3 weeks.
