Chalk Bass

Hey everyone,

Do you guys think a chalk bass pair or trio would be doable in a 30 cube. The only other inhabitants fishwise are a picasso pair who never leave their gig. Or, would I be better off with just 1?

The tank is am SPS dominant fairly mature (2+ years) reef.

Thanks!

I would only do 1, a 30 cube doesnt offer much in real estate for a pair or trio and Chalk Bass get biggish, close to 3" in adult size

Have a look at a trio of Masked Gobies instead. Not as colorful but I think it would work better if your looking for some activity.

Agree. My chalkies have all reach about 3" and can be surprisingly cranky (particularly based on how shy they are when small).

I miss my old Chalk Bass. They are a beefy 3". So as others have mentioned you'd probably just want one. Cool fish though.
