Changed Rocks around. What do you think?

Well I was shooting for a minimalist rock-scape. I was always a big fan so I went for it. Let me know what you think please! Sorry about the quality as the pictures were taken with my phone!

Nah. I liked it better the other way!

LOL!!!
Just kidding :). Playing on the known fact that there are only two times anyone is truly happy with their rockscape. First is when they first put it up, and again when it is finally taken down. All the time in between, one is always looking on how to make it better.

It looks good! Honest!!

I thought it looked good the other way as well But I seem to have less dead spots with this and there is more open space in the middle.

Not bad t'all :) Honestly I am not much into the 'rock wall' look where most of the tank is rock. I like to see some sand and rock islands in such a way as yours. My current 29gal, due to limited space, has basically a rock wall. While I managed to get it to look quite nice, I am going with the rock island look not unlike yours for the next tank which is a work in progress (still..).

I have a somewhat similar layout but with another rock in the middle. I have my powerheads behind the rock structures on the left and right.

lol that is exactly true :p i loved my first aquascape. Then i changed it about 4 times and still dont like it lol

I like the set up, lots of beach front property for your corals. But if i had to critique it. I would say move the PH's to the opposite sides of the tank. They seem much too obtrusive in the center like that. Plus another rock some where in between the two islands to break it up a bit

So you suggest keeping the PH's facing the front glass but on the ends of the tank? Do you think this will be enough flow spread out through the tank? As the rock "mountains" would block alot of it .

Does OK on my 55g , might be worth a try!
I have a standard 55g so I am kinda stuck with the rock wall because it is so narrow.

Well I tried it like that and I only get flow along the back on the tank cause my rocks are so tall .. No water goes towards the front of the tank!

i really like it i have all ways used the rock wall approach but i might just buy into the tall rock faces. how did you stack the rock without fear of it all falling down? im trying to build some sort of reef rack for my 125g tank.

btw i accually like the powerheads in the center i know it sounds weird but my fish go nuts around the powerheads and it would bring all of them into view. just my 2c

If you place the PH's on the left and right side of the tank and have one more towards the front and the other towards the back, you'll get flow in a lot of the area. It seems to work in my 55g, but it's also a matter of preference I think. As long as there's enough flow for things to survive everything's good!
