I was there, and there was no way anything other than a discussion - no fight, not even a verbal argument - about the speaker's meal before the meetings, and the officers were asking for a vote by the membership whether the club should also pay for the speaker's drink(s) and for the hosting officers' meal too. Probably not too many people other than the club secretary even cared enough to remember what the membership decided. About as close to a non-issue as you can get. The most passion I heard in anyone's voice was someone asking why didn't the officers make the decision.Originally posted by Notathumpa
I have been to 2 C-SEA meetings. At one, there was almost a fight because the officers of the club had used club funds for a meal. Rather embarrassing and not at all appreciated since my freind had his young grandson along. Now this wierd thread! You never know what to expect in the aquarium hobby! Not exactly what I'm looking for when I attend a meeting or log on to this type of information sharing forum. Personally, I found the additional info on generators to be what I DO expect.

It also requires someone who can work with natural gas lines since that is usually what the automated generators burn. We were house shopping and looked at a house west of Bay Village that already had a huge one. hooked up to their natural gas line. Even so it didn't run all of the circuits in the house. You might still need some computer power supplies to clean up the power it produces before you operate costly lights or pumps with it.Originally posted by Notathumpa
My power always gets knocked out when I'm either asleep or away! I would need some serious elect. knowhow to set up an auto system! I think the suggestion for an electrical systems 101 meeting is a good one.
Looking at Kohler website residential power, it would seem the answer is years. You can get an extended warranty for five years. I didn't read the limitations, but it looks like all the specs can be read online. Sounds like a great idea. Then charge your electric car with your own generated power. Drive it to the C-SEA meetings.Originally posted by otisforme
i was wondering how long could you run the house on a natural gas generator... days, weeks or years....
