Hey - there's something to be said about a catchy header.
Anyway, my wife and I spend countless hours on ReefCentral - I thought it'd be fun to show you guys a wife that is just as involved as I am!
We brought home a xenia frag a week or so ago. I know, I know - I'm going to hate it one day, but I love the motion. It's been doing well, but just last night my wife noticed this little guy hanging out underneath it:
I couldn't make it out too well, so I took a picture of it and zoomed in:
It looks like a zoanthid! My wife said "A FREEBIE!!!!" so we decided to move it before the xenia smothers it. Instead of doing what I would usually do, which is post a pic and ask for an ID, I let my wife go at it! (my next thread: "my tank is covered with aiptasia")
The gloves and protective glasses may be a bit much, but we know nothing about fragging and we've heard zoanthids can spit... Away she goes with my dremel, trying hard not to cut the xenia or the supposed zoanthid.
After she separated it, I took a pic of the closed-up little guy.
It was right at this point when i started wondering to myself, "I hope I'm not taking good care of aiptasia or a majano...." Either way, it was fun to watch her just as excited as I was. For all you guys out there with wives/girlfriends who think your obsession is strange, THERE'S HOPE!!!!
