Check out what I saw at a LFS.

A 4"+ Chaoti Leopard Wrasse. I just can't resist it as it was eating and the price is right. So I bought it and will pick it up on Saturday, as I had to go back to work. I can't wait to pick it up.

They also has a 5"+ Male Watanabei Angel that just came in the day before. I really wanted to buy him too, but he's not eating yet.

Make sure you deworm the wrasse. It's a good sign if they are eating, but many times they just seem to pass without any visible or logical cause. Best of luck!

I know the track record of Choati isn't good. I plan on introducing it straight into my 185gal display, I know that's not wise, but probably the best chance for it to survive. I'm also going to treat the tank with Prazipro.

I dont think you need to worry about the fish if its eating it will be fine for a few weeks in a separate tank while you deworm it. It's much easier to do now when the fish is new before adding to the DT. Once they get skinny it can be near impossible to bring them back.

My leopards are always searching for food but most of their diet is frozen and flake food. They do move small rocks and flip stuff over if it's small enough.

If your aware of the track record of these fish, why are you adverse to doing everything necessary to make sure it survives?

Part of the reason why is both my QT, a 20L and a 28 Nano Cube are bare bottom. I would think it will have a better chance in the display that has 3-4" of sand. I'm still going to treat the display with prazipro. Do you think the Choati will be okay in a bare bottom QT?

Sure, just put a large Tupperware or large deli container in it with 3-4" of sand. I would say a 8x8 or something like that would be fine. Most LFS sell 10lb bags of live sand if you don't have any dry sand handy.

Is the DT fish only? I haven't used prazi in a DT. The thought of medicating a whole system scares me a bit.

Good idea, I didn't think of that. I do have some extra sand or I can get some out from the sump. My tank is a mixed reef and I had used prazipro in my tank couple of times and all corals seem to be fine with the exception of conch.

Looks like the angels top lip has been ripped off.

No, it's just a profanity removed picture I took with my phone. He looked like in perfect condition, nice, solid and fat. Too bad it wasn't eating when I was there, or I would have bought it too.
