Chemi-Clean experiences with anemones

OK, so I have been battling an awful cyano issue for about six months, I've made tremendous progress but long story short, lots of HC GFO, LOTS of water changes, and there are some remnants. I'm controlling it very well now, but getting those little last pieces has been a pain. I'd love to just nuke the cyano and start over, hence the chemi-clean..

So my question now is.. Who has used chemi-clean successfully in their tanks, and with what kind of anemones? I have S. Gigantea, but just curious of the overall experiences. I haven't heard of any issues, but would like to get an opinion from the group.

I used it in my tank with a haddoni carpet with now issues a while back.

I personally wouldn't use it. Keep up with the water changes gfo and manual removal/siphoning.

Trust me it's taken about 8 months for me to get here... After spending I don't even want to know in salt, and high capacity gfo... This was a last resort but I have local reefers who have done it with gigs no problems . Just wanted to expand the audience.

I have used with anemones and had no problems.

So the box says to run with skimmer on, but throttle it down completely. I'm going to be running a huge airstone, and thinking of running the skimmer, but letting it just overflow back into the sump. I'll take out my collection cup, clean it completely, and just let the overflow go right back into the sump.

This way, my large airstone can help provide O2, as well as the skimmer like normal. I've been hesitant to use Chemi-Clean in the past, but like I said, with several hundred dollars in high capacity GFO, salt, and just everything else has me at my whits end...

How did it go. I have Cyano and also a gigantea and tempted to use chemiclean. I always find 0 nitrate and almost 0 on phosphate (margin of error on test kit).

Went just fine, the Gigantea(s) never showed any signs of anything. Overall, tank did tremendous and I have a couple isolated spots come back, but I'm getting my phosphate issues solved... slowly, but surely.

I'll be using it again, just make sure you use a big airstone!
