Chiller Question

I have a 360 gallon reef with 4 400watt MH's and 4 4' T5's. I'm looking at the Pacific Coast C-050 1/2hp Do you think this will do the job? I'm also wondering how much shipping would be to Dothan, Al 36303.

Hi Hershell,

The 1/2hp unit should be just fine for you. This will handle approximately 15-20* pull down on your volume with the 400's running on it.

Shipping is somewhat expensive at $30, however that's a pretty hefty chiller!

Thanks Jemery, I was scared shipping was going to be $100.00 or something. I think I'm going to go with this chiller. I'm want to do a little more research 1st. I want to make sure I buy the right one.

i have this exact model cooling a 240g display with 4x400w halides, and another 100g in sump/fuge with another 400w halide on those, so it's fairly close to your setup.

it's been in use for 2 years with no complaints, and on the hottest days of summer keeps the water under 80.

since you're just setting things up, benefit from my experience here - think about the ventilation for this bad boy ahead of time. as it cools, it's going to put out a fair amount of heat into the air.
