Chinese LED Lights

Well at 60 blues including moon lights and 23 whites that's 83 led which leaves you with 16 left (99 total for the 2080 I believe) so I'd do 8 violet and 4 red and 4 green

There's mister santa Monica himself if anyone hasn't checked out his stuff in the sponsor forums I insist you do!

I can't wait to get my ATS from him in the near future!

I have a it 2040 from reefbreeders. I don't know what light output would be best. I'm running blue 65 and white 50 at peak hours.
All I have for corals is a frogspawn/dunkin/blasto/birds nest sps/ tiny little acopora frag just to try it out.... Any recommendations on what percent difference would be great for my corals health??? Thank you
Sorry my double post was accident on the other page.

If you acclimate slowly over a few weeks, you can run the lights at 100% if you wanted to. I have, but I've also bleached two SPS frags by forgetting to lower the intensity when they were introduced.

Thanks, I think that is my problem I rushed a little... During the evening hours under like 40 blue and 30 white my corals look better and also at the end of the day my birds polyps are hidden with little black dots in some places..... Will take some more tunning to do.

I'm not good with the actual lay out thing but if you just give your total leds to Logan he will put it in layout for you ...

Tell him you want

57 blues (I'd use all royal blues which is 450nm but if you want you can mix in some 470 or 480s)

23 whites ...15 75k 4 35k and 4 10-12k

8 violets 420nm

4 red 660

4 greens 520 and then your 3 moon less which are 480 I believe

If you are using several warm whites I don't know if you even need the red and green lights. I have two D120's with only one red and two greens in each unit and I think the tank looks a little pink/violet. I have since taped over the red and I will be replacing it with a RB in the future. I also don't think the green adds anything to the look either and will probably replace them at some point. You can see my layout and pictures several pages back in this thread.

I feel like the unit on the right side of my tank ( which is the one that is linked to the unit on the left side) seems a little bit dimmer ... I don't know if its the just my eyes playing tricks but I swear it looks like the left side is brighter even when at the same percentages for each channel

I have a it 2040 with 90 degree optics. Looking to buy another one because I am getting ready to set up my 120 soon. Here is my concern... The 120 is 48 by 24 by 24... For 30 bucks more i can get a 150 that's 48 by 24 by 30.... Will 2 of these lights reach down 30 inches and produce decent lighting? It will be a mixed lps/ sps tank . Lps on floor and bot rock... Sps middle to top?

Two of my friends have 30" deep 220g tanks and both got new IT2080 lights (basically the bigger version of your IT2040). I have 2 over my 180g as well. We are getting PAR readings in the 200 range at 26-28" deep. We have all talked about even taking some of the 90 degree lenses off and adding 120 degree lenses for all the leds that aren't blue or white and the moon lights. You won't have any issues.

I'm thinking about getting a it2040 for my 65g. It does have a canopy and center brace , if need be I will get another at a later date if I need better coverage. My question is : I have two strip of glass on the outer edges of my tank top and eggcrate in the center part ( to keep jumpers in ) will this effect the the lighting of the tank....? Thanks

Remove the eggcrate and use clear netting instead.

Im going to apologize in advance if I have missed this somewhere but its been a while since ive been on this thread. I have a NOVA A4. I have 4 UV and 4 violet that have burned out and the lenses turned black. Are there new violet LEDS that are being used now? I saw something about 420 nm violets. Mine are like 405-410.
