Chinese LED Lights

Are you able to get moonlights on a D120? Seems to me like they would have to redesign the unit and add a third power cord.

So Brian told me that they offer both Bridgelux, Epistar and Cree (XP-G), you just have to tell them what you want when ordering.. For the Cree it is $55 extra per unit.

is this a guy from gehl?

Does they extra cost seem worth it? and how can we verify that they are (XP-G) and not older Cree.

Quick question for people who ordered from Evergrow. Did you guys get extra LEDs with the order? I asked them prior to the order and they said yes, but I didn't get the LEDs in the package. Just wondering. I am currently working with Sunny on this.

I don't know how to tell for sure that they are XP-G's I believe earlier Bhaz said ask them for the BIN's. Maybe Bhaz can chime in. As for the cost versus benefit someone whom has had both standard versus Cree can speak to that.

Brian also told me that the have a model available with three dimmers (whites, blues, and moon). I asked if they had one that was remote controlled and he said they would have a model available soon.

Heck, in a month from now they might have one that can teleport me to the moon. :fun5:

soul - the link that you included in post #298 - is that the light that you got the quote of $420/two units on? it doesn't look like it has moonlights. does it include moonlights and the hanging kit? are they including a remote for each unit?

This is not a D120 from Evergrow but similar unit from Gehl. It is on a separate (3rd) power cord. I believe it is a small ac/dc adapter.

phishfoodie what brand led's did you go with for this fixture ??
I went with Epistar leds.

did anyone find out yet if the Gehl led's are wired in a series or wired in parallel?

I sent Brian an email to get a bit more info. I'll let you know when I hear back.

I actually ordered these after reading a review from djmatteo here on RC. Maybe he can post more impressions on his lights.

Here is link to his post:

I don't think so, as when I first inquired I was told that unit did not but I asked if he had one that did and that is what the quote was for. I didn't know at the time of that post above that you couldn't link, so I cannot link now. But either way, I would imagine if you contact Brian he will get you squared up. Again, they are on back-order but the net of it all so far:

1. Equivalent to IT2040 (Less one fan, they seem to have more flexibility than Evergrow) with Moon lights
2. Choose Bridgelux, Epistar, Cree (more money for Cree $55 per unit)
3. Whites run about 90 to 100 lm/w
4. Remote Control w/ hanging kit
5. About $160-$180 Cheaper than Evergrow
6. He did say he would send extra LED's but the one outstanding is it wired in parallel or series

thank you for that information. when i was talking to brian - he said that if i ordered two units, there would be one controller which would control both units. i haven't figured out exactly what that means. do you have any input on that?

thats interesting because it seems that right now the IT120 onboard controller is not that accurate and everyone is having consitancy issues with brightness and time. they need to get that fixed before i pull the trigger.

i don't know if he was referring to the onboard controller - or perhaps he meant that there would be one remote control device for the two units. i haven't gotten clarification yet. This was how he stated it:

2pcs with moonlights
one pcs with controller another linked with the first lamp.they controlled by one controller.

yea but the IT120 controllers are useless if more then one unit cant be in sync with time and brightness. so if controlled by one controller it may help the situation

I just got my order of IT120. I must say they did a pretty good job this time. Package and unit are put together decently. The controller panel is easy enough yet not totally useless. I had that powered on to test and its even more quiet than my KEY unit. I will hook that up soon to see if the multi-color LED put up a better job than the blue and white KEY unit.

Can I get some input on this fixture.

use on a 75 and a 120. 90 d optics and controller, range from $130-180 depending on which setup I go with.

I prefer to have more spectrum over higher par. In my reading the efficiency of chlorophyll decreases significantly the farther you get from ideal spectrums.

- The new light (IT120,2040, same thing) has a heatsink, adjustable hanging kit, lcd screen, sunrise/sunset, moonlights, and a remote control over the d120.

see the quote above. i believe the IT120 and IT2040 are the same thing.

It2040 delivered.
I'm ramping up.

Improvement areas.

Smoothing of sunset/sunrise steps
Hanging kit too short
Fans too cheap and noisy at max power

In the last area i will try to mod something. I'm thinking about two fans more quiet. Unfortunably i think there are no room for two 120 diametro fans. Only 80 mm possibly 92 mm.

You can edit the sunrise/sunset to each half hour, and change the steps to be much smoother.

The kit is adjustable to a very long length, much longer than the ones that come with the d120.

The fans also only turn on at high power. The unit is silent at lower power.
