Chinese LED Lights

Bit of a sidenote, but how do people create these design layouts and edit them? Is there something online that does this or am I just missing something...

When you contact them, they will email you a blank template that you can fill in and email it back to them with the order

I switched out a few leds on my d120. 4 violets, 2 reds, and 4 warm whites for now. I have 4 UV as well
but curious to know if they would be useful to install. Is UV lighting beneficial to corals in relation to their
color? Does the protection from UV rays that corals produce , their colors, , diminish if not exposed to UV light anymore over time?

Ok. So is there a link for the it2040. And bhazzards layout. Link to that . I want it add a few reds to bhazzards Anyone do that yet?

Thanks

It is using a large power supply, but the led driver is unmarked. That other one is for the fans. It doesn't really help.

ok there is two of those drivers, and then one little power supply for the fans. not sure if this helps but they are dimmable

You would have to find out if they are wired in parallel, or in series. In series you can replace any led. In parallel, each led string must be identical in the leds used.

bhazard I am wanting to put LED's in place of MH on my new tank that i am in the process of building 120x30x36 would you have time to do a layout for me that has great growth rate and lots of pop i am new to led and have no idea what or how many to buy will LED's go 36 deep any help on LED's drivers ect would be much appreciated

bhazard451, do you have a recommended layout for the 2040 fixtures that includes greens and reds that will give both, color growth and color?

I am going for a 14k-16k look.

For 14k-16k, a near 2:1 or 3:2 ratio of blues to cool whites, or near 3:1 using neutral or warm whites for their bridgelux leds they use. The whites are very bright.

Use 2-4 leds each of reds, violets, and possibly 2-3 of greens.

36" deep is a lot. 90 degree optics might not reach well all the way down, so then you would have to use 60 degree optics... but those don't have much spread.

The only recommendation I can think of, is to try one d120 unit and order extra 60 degree optics, and try the light with 90 or 60. 120" is a ton of tank, and would require over 6 of these... even more if 60 degree optics are needed. You would need to know if you like them first before ordering a bunch.

I might look at fathomled's as I believe they can be plugged into one another and one controller will run all of them. A buddy of mine just put 8 over his 400g. If not look to get the d120's and a controller for them but that will be a lot of power cords.

ok hazzard, now that im pretty sure its in a series. where can i get some of the led's at, and what would you recommend putting into a standard blue and white box. and thanks so much for all the help

So I guess the real question is this for those of you who are using black boxes, which ones would you most highly recommend for a 75G SPS light reef and how many? Obviously it seems to be all about spectrum, but do you feel these lights are currently at a point to provide long term sustainability with the proper wavelengths being included? If I was to order a base model (D-120) with spare LEDs to get the proper grid, how hard is the swapping of LEDs and what equiptment would I need on hand to complete such tasks? Thanks for your time and any info you can share.
