That should be fine. DIM4 is not compatible with the drivers they use. Violet 420nm is great for growth and florescence.

I ran three at first as well and it works just fine!! two IMO wouldnt work..i since upgraded to 5

Can someone please give me some feed back on my diy layout i have in my pic for the D120 i plan on ordering them in the near future and i wanted to get the best layout i can i thought i could get some help from you experienced with them already?

Also I'd like to ask about the new light with the LCD screen... its 2 channels still right? Still 28 one channel and 27 the other? Also I know they can be set to increase slowly every so often but since I dont have one how can this be set? For instance.... if I want my blue channel to ramp up every 30 mins till its fully on and then my white channel to do the same ... can that be done? And then can it ramp down the same way? The white slowly ramp down until all blue is still on? And then the blues ramp down until its off?
Also is the three moons on its own channel? Or is it with the blues? Sorry for all the questions I just wanna make sure I cab set it how I want before I decide on these over more d120s.... thanks guys

18 blues should be 450 royal blue. You dont want the 460-470 as your main blue.
Other than that it looks just fine

The ramp up/ramp down can be set to whatever you want every half hour. So at 7:30pm you could be at 30% white 30% blue, and then at 8:00pm you could be at 20%white 30%blue... etc. You can set each increment by 1%. Moonlights turn on at 10% to 0%.

Thanks bhaz I found it ... these things look sweeet ... how user friendly are they with the new LCD setup? And do u know how much there running? I know my d120 customized was around 180 shipped ...
And bhaz is it hard to add optics to the d120 or possible? I got mine with 120 degree lenses but now its gonna go over my sons cube tank and I can over imagine how much light will spill everywhere lol so could I just have them send me extra optics to add to it myself?

Over I'm satisfied with the product. My tank is a 40gallon breeder with built in overflow box. 36 inches long. Since I went with only one LED fixture I got the 120 degree angle. I believe anything longer than 36inch would require 2 LED fixture to have good lighting. I switch from T5 to LED due to the energy efficient. Another reason is less bulbs to change. This fixture is dimmable with moonlight build in.
I went with
24 Royal blues, 4 Violets
23 Cool Whites, 2x REd, 2x UV
thinking about ordering this same set-up.. do you have a pic of what it looks like on during the daytime you could post??? also i was tols to get the 90 degree op does your 120 overshine really bad??

Very user friendly. I figured it out in a few minutes. The new hanging kits and remote are sweet. The new optics are twist on too... and they should work with the d120s. They even use TIR like Ecotech.
They might sell you the optics if you ask. They would probably also ship them along with a light if you bought one, just like they'll ship extra leds on request.
I just asked about this actually. The drivers they use in these units are apparently the wrong voltage, so no they're not compatible. The IT120's have a controller built into them though, however, I've yet to find the at a reasonable price.

Not Dimmable or customizable and cost more than buying direct. The taotronics are sold on eBay also. Some reviews on those are less than stellar.
I would go with and evergrow customized if it were me. Shipped to your door with more features for $175 ( at least that was the price when I go mine in July )
