Chinese LED Lights

The IT120's have a controller built into them though, however, I've yet to find the at a reasonable price.

What are you considering a reasonable price for the IT120's? I was just quoted $230/ea plus shipping for 2 units at $108. Total price $568. Was your quote near this?

Need help to finalize the layout

Need help to finalize the layout

Hi All... I need your quick help finalizing the LED layout of D120.

My aquarium is 130 x 60 x 60 cm and i would like to have a mixed reef setup. Currently i have LR with a couple of fish. Once the light is finalized, i will go for the soft corals and then later on with SPS, clams and anemones.

The layout is attached, i will go for 3 pcs. The lights are with manual dimmer and on/off timer.

Would appreciate your replies and guidance. Thanks

DO NOT BUY FROM FOBSUN!. Five weeks ago I paid to the ALIBABA Member FOBSUN ELECTRONICS LIMITED for my aquarium lights. They confirmed payment by email. I decided to buy from them since they offered a black box sized differently than those offered by the suppliers here recommended. I regret to inform that as of today they have not make delivery, and worst, during the past week they do not respond any of my emails. At the beginning they argued that they were confronting production interruptions because of the Japan vs. China discussions, but as I mentioned, since last week, they just did not care to respond any of my emails. Such silence is what i hate the most. I presented claim to Alibaba last week, but I have not receive any response either. I am thinking the worst. I shall have not trusted ALIBABA. My recommendation to those interested in buying from Chinese suppliers is to contact those names here recommended and do not confuse ALIBABA with other reputable e-commerce sites such as EBay.

Not Dimmable or customizable and cost more than buying direct. The taotronics are sold on eBay also. Some reviews on those are less than stellar.

I would go with and evergrow customized if it were me. Shipped to your door with more features for $175 ( at least that was the price when I go mine in July )

Awesome! Thanks!

There is a week long national holiday in China going on right now, which ends the 7th.

Alibaba is reputable for receiving quotes from suppliers. Aliexpress.com is the e-commerce marketplace that works like ebay. Two different sites.

RE: the Evergrow IT-120 clock drift issue..

I emailed Sunny about it.. Seems they made a mistake on the clocks. They have corrected the LCD panel and are supplying
replacement lcd panels for the people affected by the issue. Email your Evergrow rep to have them send you a replacement.
You will need to crack the unit open and replace the lcd part yourself.

They are taking care of the 7 units I ordered.

If you are getting d120 units, I don't believe there is reason for you to have the moon LEDs. I don't believe they will be powered separately. Unless I am mistaken, I would replace these with regular LEDs.

I was quoted a pair at $294 ea yesterday. So your quote is a little better. Is your quote direct from evergrow?

Yes, directly from Evergrow. Aimee Ocean is the rep I spoke to. I saw in previous posts that Gehl was offering free shipping, so I'm going to see if Evergrow will match it. I'll report back.

Does anybody know if Gehl's controlled units are still on backorder?

I think they are still on backorder. I recall talking to Gehl earlier this week and they said there was a waiting list for those units and couldn't guarantee when they would be available.

Hi all, thanks for all the info so far. I have a tank size 5x2x2. To cover the tank, would I need 2 or 3 of them? BHazard, Have you done a comparison with the d120 and 48x3w from eshine. I am referring to the bridelux version here as d120 only has bridelux?

Ok, I just got another response from Evergrow. I was able to get them down to $550 shipped for a pair of customized it120s. Just a reference for anyone interested. The eBay ones I was looking at were similar to the d120 and were $175 ea. Had separate dimmers for the two channels. Not sure if I absolutely need the controllers or not. Any advice?

Ok after doing a lot of reading, I think I've decided to give these LEDS a shot. I have a 24" deep tank and plan to grow mainly softies and lps. Does the 120w bridgelux on reefbreeders have a good enough layout for growth and color or do I need to customize it? I don't want a super blue look but somewhere in the 14k to 16k look would be good.

Thanks

STILL trying to get a firm idea of what i am getting. I know i am getting a d120, dimmable, with 90 degree optics. I want a 14k look, maaaaybe even a bit bluer. I want some green, red, and maybe uv/violet because that is what you guys say :o)

Just don't know exactly where to place the extras/how many?

there appears to be 2 options from evergrow:

1) Dimmable 120w led aquarium light D120 with 24B + 4Violet and 6B + 15W + 2Green + 4Red for $175 shipped

2) D120 led custom layout dimmable led aquarium light for coral reef free air shipping for $178

3) D120 led custom layout dimmable led aquarium light for coral reef free air shipping with optics lens

so is #3 the only one with optics? This will be over a frag tank in my basement, so no canopy, but still might move it to the DT one day..? I have the original Bhazzard layout somewhere, but I know that now most are adding the R and G.. Someone TELL me what to get EXACTLY lol! :o) Thanks!

Please clarify something for me. All these D120 light systems are dimmable but how would you be able to control the timing of the light being on and off and the dimming throughout the day (morning effect to noon to night).

Or is it only a manual dim?
