Chinese LED Lights

I am chatting with Evergrow right now and she is telling me that the new IT120's with the updated boards only have 51 LEDs. Standard layout includes 24 blue, 24 white and 3 moonlights. She also stated they were not ready to order and would let me know when they are.

Has anyone else confirmed?

That is what she told me when I was questioning the lay out on my invoice.
I am not sure what is going on. I have asked for help, and recommendations, and have received no reply. Not sure why. I guess I am going to hold off paying until it is more clear.

So are the new IT-120 going to be physically smaller?

Why get rid of the middle row of leds.. seems odd. And less
opportunity for customization.

She told me the customers, and engineers recommended it. Also stated red, and green, and violet make white. That is why they are using a combination of cool white.

Some one awhile back in the old thread did a layout with variety of whites some reds and violets for an ever grow. If your here following can you please repost. Thanks.

Here's the layout I used. If I were to do it over I would use 4 reds instead of 2 red & 2 orange and move the reds and greens closer to the front.

It looks like they added an additional column of LEDS instead of the middle row. I have noticed that mine is noticably dimmer at the sides of the tank. If the fixture is longer this should give more uniform coverage to both sides. If they can allow you to use the moonlight LEDS simultaneous with the other 2 channels then your only 4 LEDS less than the old version.

Overall I like the newest controller light the most. The d120 is still the best bang for the buck though.

what is the main difference between the nova A6 and the new controller light you are referring too? also can the d120 be fixed dyi if an led goes out or i want to add different color? thanks again.

Moonlights added. Adjustable tiltable hanging kit, lcd screen and touch panel, moonlights, sunrise/sunset, remote control.

Yep. The leds have ICs in them to prevent an entire string from blowing. If you want to change out a led, it is easy. I've done it a few times to change colors already.

Our local club is doing a group buy with EG and our EG contact has suggested that we NOT order the IT model because the new board and layout was just completed yesterday. She also stated that the original clock issues have not been resolved.

The D120 seems like the way to go unless you need to wait for the extra stuff that the IT offers.

I have only read a portion of this thread but I wanted to tell anyone interested that I bought the new TaoTronics 212W (blue 2:1) and my corals LOVE it. It's a nice looking fixture at a great price $299 and my tank has never looked better.

90 Cube

I hang mine pretty close to the tank. I do get some overshine but in my opinion it's not too bad.

How big is your tank? Mine is 36 inch long. If any longer I would recommend two fixture and go the 90 degree op. Since I didn't want to get two I did 120 degree.

Thanks, mine is a 36 inch tank as well but I planning on getting a bigger 36 inch tank in the feature that will be much deeper so I'm stock on the the lens.
Also what website is the safest to order thru and do your own custom layout?

I have a question....could somebody post up pics of each fixture, and give a comment about each, like price/coral growth/ and overall satisfaction?? Just talking about the IT120 or the d120....I'm confused as to which one is which...even after 26 pages of reading. I just bought a 40breeder and thinking about using a Chinese fixture. Thanks Josh

Does anyone have a layout of taunting led wise and a picture of it overly outrank as well...
Also what about the new tri dem is that a better deal because he 120 reg cost 224 or he 90 degree op and the tri dim is 250 with he 90 dare op

Tagging along...thinking about getting one of these.
It says at ReefBreeders that there is a 2-3 week delay to order...does anyone know what that date looks like now?
Thanks!
Dave

Same info I got when I called on Thursday.
I was given a name and company that has some in stock depending on which unit you want but don't know if I should post the site, recovering from 1 infraction already!

HUH? No idea what that means. Usually pretty good a decoding too.
