Chinese LED Lights

Thanks! The IT2040 is awesome. I'm just restarting this tank for my mother so theres only the anemone right now. I do plan on getting some corals for her soon. So far, I am really satisfied with the fixture.

It covers the 24x24 footprint really well and I'm still not at 100%. I have my light at 10.5" above the water line right now. I have 2 660nm reds, no greens, 2 480nms. The Reds are not overpowering and mesh well with the entire fixture, even with 90 degree lenses. There is no spot lighting effect from the reds. The whites are really strong and at my 2.5:1 ratio of blue:white, 100% on both channels does still not equal a true 14k IMO. The controller is very simple and very easy to learn. My remote however seems not to work, but I didnt plan on using it very often

Just ordered two Evergrow D120 for my tank and will take before and after pics and keep everyone interested up to date. Pretty excited to replace my 2 250 MH!

I'm still waiting on my 2 24" units from reef breeders ...been almost a month now and I'm getting impatient lol they hadn't even gotten there sample unit when I pre ordered them and then said it would be to me by the 2nd or 3rd week of month ... but its almost the end of the month

I know there was some issues with people posting for vendors and stuff but i dont know how else to ask this question. Des anybody know anything about this fixture?

Im not advertising for them or anything, i just feel like it looks like a great deal, and i just want some feedback

What makes this look like a great deal? It's an auction not a buy now deal. I'll bet it's up close to, if not over $200 buy the end of the auction. You can buy it direct for less than that right now. I guess we'll see in a couple of days.

My 16" IT2040 is at the UPS office now. Hoping it gets put on the truck. If not, I will see if I can pick it up at the office. I just have to wait for the Marco Rock and get my stand built. After that, I will start this tank up.

looks like i am waiting for my lights like everyone else. i dont think it will get here in time for christmas. im very upset because i ordered them a month ago!

I was thinking of getting some par 38 screw in led's for my 1000 gal. fowlr tank. Has anyone used these? If so, I could use some advise.

I feel your pain man lol I have been running 1 of the d120 on my 120 for 2 weeks now while waiting for my lights for month now.. I really can't wait for them to get here so my tank is running proper

I am setting up a 60g cube (24" x 24" x 24") with a mixed reef, and I was thinking of either the IT2040 or IT2060. I am leaning toward the IT2060, as it would be jsut as wide as the tank. What does everyone think?

Erik

I think the 2040 will cover fine but if u feel the need to get the 2060 that will cover plenty as well

Well, with the prices I have been gettng, the IT2060 is only $10 more than the IT2040, so is there any reason to not get the IT2060?

Thanks,

Erik

The 2060 uses the same amount of leds spaced out more. I prefer tighter clusters of leds. You would get a bit more uniform coverage with the 2060.

I like having areas with lower PAR towards the sides, so I can stick any softies or LPS there that don't like as much light.

As far as production goes, a month is a bit long to wait. I think more people are seeing that a lot of these chinese lights are actually decent, and a better option than rolling dice with an Odyssea Metal Halide fixture for budget/value seekers that can't stomach spending $500+ per light.

It's only $10 more, because it's the exact same light, only wider...

IMO, you don't need to have the extra light on the sides of the tank...are you putting corals against the glass?... The unit is about 8" front to back, if that is sufficient for your cube, then why spread the light to the sides?

If you do grab some of these lights, I would definitely love to hear your impressions. That 675g of yours is incredible, and if you give the thumbs up on these, that would be some heavy validation that they can work over a massive, TOTM, mature system with everything. Everyone knows MH and T5 work, but LEDs are still way too experimental to be 100% sure without seeing a majority of thriving systems (which are too few in number as of now to be certain).

Actually, I have been running Solaris I5 units for over 3 years, and coral growth has been good...BUT besides the two 6' units with a total of 360 LEDs, I run 10 4' HO T5s on ice cap ballasts

I've seen some of these units in use with the add'l red LEDs (Solaris does have green, but no red) and I really like the color it gives to fish and coral.

As soon as I can confirm that they can build what I want, I will place the order
