Danny, that is pretty similar to what I run my IT2080's at over my 180g tank. I do 8 hours up, 1 hour midday at 80%B & 40%W and then 8 hours down. I'm all blue for 3 hours at dawn and dusk because I like the look.

Hey Ron,

Would you mind posting pics again of your IT2080 over your tank and your layout. I liked your look when I was involved in the thread about a year ago...but I can find the page....maybe I am lazy :) I and am about to order one. Also anything you would have liked to do have done differently on the layout would be great.

Thanks,

Good afternoon All... I have a question on some Chinese LED Lights that I have had for about 3 months. I ordered the LEDZEAL Malibu S300 fixture and I have no ideal how bright to run them on my 90 gal. DT. just looking you a base line. How long to have them on per day. .... I have them directly rest on the glass top of the tank (or actually 1.5 inches above) I have messed around with running at 50% to 70% but think there better settings for this light.... also plan on hooking them up to my Neptune apex with in the next month

I am not familiar with that brand/version however I wouldn't recommend running them on top of the glass or 1.5" above. I run my fixtures 8" to 10" from the glass. Also, I run sunrise/sunset so the blue LED's (blue & royal blue) start and end the day...maybe total running time of appproximately 10 to 12 hours a day, (70 to 80% at peak). Whites run approximately 8 hours at a peak of 50%.

Have a it2060 on a 58 gallon 36x18 , no optics on the lights is 2in above the water. Is that too low? Coverage in the tank is fine just didn't know if it's to close

probably going to get a good amount of salt creep and splash on the unit having it that low.

Have glass canopy that covers the middle where the light is so splash isn't a issue, just wasn't sure if the light being that close would cause other issues. The tank is in my living room and with the light higher you can see a big glare from the leds when I had it at 8in before. Seeing spots when your watching tv kinda sucks

Greg..... consider a lightweight wood canopy which could be suspended from the light. This would work if the light was suspended from the ceiling. That being said you couldcould extend the lower edge as far as you need to block the light.

Have been looking for laminate the same color as my stand to do a canopy, lights are suspended by 3/4 conduit pipe that I bent and mounted to the back if the stand

Oddly enough, it seems we may have similar thoughts. I recently put in laminate floors in the room where my tank is.I made the stand and covered it with extra flooring and made a hood for my Reefbreeders led out of the same material. Now it almost looks like the whole thing is a continuation of the floor. I used "L brackets attached only to the inside of the hood so it perches on top of the light.

Can we see some photos please? Sounds like a cool idea!

Also on another issue, I now own two different it2060's my original one strait from evergrow and another from reefbreeders anyone know what leds I would need to change in the layout from evergrow to eliminate the purple hue so it's more like the photon's . I see the whites are different but didn't know if the 450nm blues to 460nm blues would change anything and off not just change the whites?

Salt man, here is an entire thread on the Ledzeal light. I'm sure you'll be able to find all the answers you need in there.
