Chinese LED Mounting

Purchased a Galaxy Hydro with wifi control from Amazon and wasn't able to find good mounting methods directly relating to these Chinese LED boxes.

Here is the bracket I used VideoSecu LCD LED Monitor TV Ceiling Mount For Most 15"-27" Flat Panel Display with VESA100x100, 75x75, Fit flat and vaulted ceiling mount, and wall mount B17 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WXIFS4/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_7Zz7vbGDMG8P1

Simply opened up the box drilled a couple pilot holes through the metal backing and used self tapping screws to affix the bracket. Lmk what you think or if you have any questions.

I got the idea to use the bracket from a post on how to mount radions.

Nice! I just ordered 2 Gallaxyhydro for my 85g tank, how are they working for you?

I only see 1 screw holding the fixture, I'm wrong?

Thank you,
Carlos García

There's 1 bolt that bolts the bracket attached to the LED's to the mount itself. The bracket on the LED has 4 screws in it, not all in the same spaced holes due to items in the LED itself. It's solid though.

So far they are working great! Better than my Orbit Marine anyways lol.

Totally unrelated but is that your thermostat above your tank or home alarm?

Thermostat, I'd move - or move the tank. Alarm, well, not an ideal location but not as bad as if it was the thermostat.

Nice mounting though.

I was originally looking for some type of tv mount but didn't think of a ceiling mount used on a wall idea.
Ive put steps in motion to return the hanger and placed the order for the mount. Glad it also extends up to 30in.
Deff what i was looking for.

Awesome glad I could help! I didn't find many mounting options relating to these lights specifically. If you are mounting it out that far be sure you have it anchored properly in the wall. I have 1 screw in a stud and another 2 toggle bolts holding mine up.

I just bought one of these lights earlier this week and installed today. So far am impressed with the build quality of the light and enjoying the wifi app and timer functions. I'm starting at 30% max for blue and white and will gradually increase the lights over a weekly basis. Looking forward to the difference of LEDs vs my old t5ho.

Well my braket seemed too hang down. Like the weight of the box made the extension dip down.
So i jus said screw it and placed some chains from the ceiling. I dont need to raise or lower as these are dimmable.

Pleased with how the chain look went.

That sucks, I thought that might be an issue if you use any of the extension pieces. How far off the wall did you need to come?

Nice and simple! I will share mine. Bit more complicated due to the supplemental T-5's. Some of these pictures will give you an idea of the range of motion I have. This makes it much simpler to work on the tank. I can just move the light out of the way. I am not able to move the light up and down but if I was to decide to do that I can simply add some spacers between the main frame and the light bracket. The fans have a good 2" of clearance to exhaust any heat. So no concerns there.
