Christygirl's new Leemar 180 build!

Mike,

I have 2 MP 40's running in antisync mode. I will probably continue to do that. Maybe 1 will add 1 more MP40. I am going to add 1 hole in each of the rear corner braces. GOOD IDEA!!!

That's a good call. Just in case down the road, you wanted to try tunze's or something

OK,

So last night I measured the space where the tank is going to go.

I then downloaded Google Sketchup.

First time I have ever used the program.
Decided to do a mock up of the placement of the tank.

Now, before anyone thinks that I am going to be doing some cool models of this build, I just want to ease your mind and let you know that I won't be. I just wanted to see if I could do it, and then do a mock up of what I think the whole wall will look like when I am done.

Basically, I intend to demo the fireplace surround that I built a couple of years ago. Then, I will build a whole wall unit to incorporate the tank, a display shelf, a bar and a fireplace.

I will then do a quick sketch of that.

The next post will be a panorama shot of the room from my i-phone. Kind of hokey cause it makes the room look bent!

So here is one of those IPhone Panorama Pictures....

Grainy and Curvey.....

I built the fireplace a few years ago.... Time for a change......

Mike,

I am going to do a bean animal overflow. So, the full siphon and open channel will be from the side.... This way, I can run the pipes at the side of the box instead of behind the box. This will allow me to have the tank closer to the wall.

Nice tank Randy. I purchased mine from Ali as well. I have the same dims but 22" high which makes it a 165. I'd love to see it...and if you want to check out my tank LMK. I live in the 92882 too :)

Goreef, I would absolutely like to check your tank out. Pm me your info and I will come see it. Mine is 4 weeks away!

Grimreefer555,

Are you refering to this build or, my other Leemar build?

This one is going to be a fun build for me. I only hope it will come out like the way I think it will.

Thanks,

Hey I'm 92882, I didn't realize there were so many reefers near by, I'm always up for trading

Well, I have made my decision.... Based on timing, skill level, and, of course, the all mighty dollar, I am going to build my stand out of wood.

I thought about steel, but, the time it would take coupled with the steps of taking it somewhere to get powder coated or rhino lined, would definitely not meet my time lines...

So, the stand is going to be 72 inches long, 36 inches deep, and 42 inches tall. The tank is 24 inches deep. I want to make the stand deeper, front to back than the tank, because I want to have the extra room underneath.

Plus, I would like to have a vent behind the tank for wires to travel and pipes to come through.

To do this, I will need to beef up the top structure. I have a 20 foot piece of 3x10. I will use this for my stand. I intend to draw this later tonight to see if it will work for me.

The stand is going to be a stand alone stand.

I will incorporate the rest of the wall, bar, fireplace, etc.... into it after I get the tank up and running.

The next month is going to be crazy.

My daughter gets married on the 5th of April. Next Friday.

This is my second daughter this year to get married.....

Then, a reception in Phoenix on the 19th.

Then, My oldest daughter (Mentioned Before) Graduates College on the 25th of April.....

This is going to be a busy month.

Stay tuned!

I am starting to get excited about this.
