Look at the size of this..... 6000 Lb per..... I have 6 of them!

An over all one for fun!

Damn... Nice stand but is that really necessary?

Would cost be substantially cut down without all the extra feet. @6000lb each seems a bit overboard as you can put 3x Mercedes S classes on that stand haha.

Anyway, everything is looking pro. If you're open to posting the price for that badboy please do.

Qwuintus,

The cost of the feet was 19.95 each from grainger. I have a slate floor that is not honed. It is a nominal dimensioned tile, so, it has actual high and low spots in each tile. no two tiles are the same. I wanted a foot that was able to spread the weight out and I wanted to do six of them just because I tend to err on the side of caution. I know this is overkill, but for an extra $150...... piece of mind.

The stand itself was not that costly. The builder made it to my specs with holes through the gussets for mounting panels. The light stands are real cool to with a wire chase way.

I will PM you what I paid....

Some progress to report:
Stand was completed by the fabricator...

Loaded it up in the old truck...

Started the Electric Circuits. Decided to add 2 dedicated 20 Amp Circuits and One internet connection.

Got them completed Saturday.

This is the wall before....

This is a test fit of the stand...
picture.php

I decided it was just a little to large.... My original plan was to have an 8 inch bar ledge all the way around my tank.... TOO BIG!!!
So, I will put the ledge at 4" on the left and right and 8" at the front.
So on to building the stand top.

Then I started the leveling....

Finally, A test fit with the top on the stand....
picture.php

Some things to note:
1. The Top is laminated in a glossy color core Plastic Laminate.
2. This is for protection from spills.
3. Ultimately, the bar ledge will be wrapped in a white Avonite Man Made stone
4. The stand is going to be wrapped in a weathered gray wood.
5. The fire place and display to the left of the tank is going to be completely redone.

The next part of the build is the bottom surface of the stand.
It will be a tray of the same Plastic Laminate.
The left side of the stand will be an electronics cabinet.
I will place the sump next to it.
Then the chiller
Then the ATO Resevoir
Also, the Resevoir will be on slides to facilitate filling it easier.
I will sketch this up later.

According to Ali, the tank is now coming this Friday.

My guy did one hell of a job.... the stand is sturdy as can be and, it is really put together nicely.... It is the type of stand that needs to be wrapped though....

I also have some really cool light stands for this....

If you look closely, you will see two square holes at the back. The light stands go there. They square openings al 3" square, this will allow for wires to pass through.

Awesome build! I am very interested in the gloss laminate that you used on the top, may i ask where you got it? Looking to do something similar one my new 120 build.

Orangutang,

I work for a general contractor so, I called one of our Millwork subcontractors.

The stuff I used is a color core P-Lam. It is white all the way through. It is expensive, but it does look real nice.

The funny thing is, Ultimately the top will not be seen at all, the tank covers most of it, and the bar ledge part of it will be covered with avonite.

I wanted it to be the whole top to eliminate the chance of water getting to the sub top.

I think the brand is Laminart. Check into that.

Marc,
Thanks. More to come.
Ryan,
The stand is tall, room for all of the equipment and I won't hit my head anymore.
Ev'e,
Supposed to be this Friday. Keepin my fingers crossed.

Very nice man! Saw the pics from Shawn and got mad lol. He went above and beyond on yours! You need to come over and help me with a separate outlet when your done ;) Shawn lives right next to me..

Montego,

I do want to come over and check out your system.... Sean says that you are putting an actuator on your light rack.

I need to check that out....

Also, no problem on the electric as long as you have an attic or foundation.

I ran all of mine in about a couple of hours with one guy up in the attic and me feeding the wire through.... It was tight, but we got it done.

Now I will be able to have full control of my system.

Would you mind posting a pic of your stand and your tank?
