lol it looks nothing like yours... what is a good price for them? they are listed for $50-$90 on liveaquaria....

Like your tank Pysire, the Fox face is really nice but the whole stinging issue kept me from getting one. Have you ever been stung Psyire? If so is it as bad as I have read?

On MD they call it Metallic Foxface but as you can see it's still classified as Lo magnifica:

Metallic Rabbitfish, Silver Rabbitfish, Redfin Rabbitfish - I think they all the same. I see them classed as Lo magnifica and Siganus magnifica but that whole genus seems a bit vague.

They are really nice fish, but shy like most from the foxface family.

I've haven't been stung by anything in my tank, something I'm pretty careful about. I never had to worry before as this guy was so shy he would disappear all the time, but now he is more friendly and comes in for a visit once in awhile. (while my hands are in the tank, or during feeding)

The above picture looks different than mine probably because these fish change colors so often. (whenever they are not feeling normal) ie. scared. They will turn black, or a motled grey/black spotted pattern. It's pretty cool.

Mine is just over 5" and I've had him for 15 months or so.

The price of these guys was quite high for awhile after the big tsunami as it effected their only breeding grounds and I don't believe they were collecting these fish at the time. Now they seem to have popped up again, but they are still considered the more rare of the foxface family.

I paid $120 CAD for mine, but I imagine you can find them quite a a bit cheaper now.

Thank you NexDog and Psyire...

I want to add more colorful fish and that foxface look really nice...

So I have some pictures of my latest addition!

He's a Siganus punctatus (Gold Spotted Spinefoot) Rabbitfish.

He's a bit skinny and has been picked on by my tangs. However, after being in the tank for a week, things have settled down quite a lot. He's now getting a little fatter and his scars are healing. I'm quite surprised at how much more active he is than my other rabbitfish (foxface).

I was concerned as well for my corals, but so far he has been a model citizen and hasn't shown any interest in them at all.

I'd have to say that I recommend this guy for any large reef tank, they are neat fish.

Most fish & corals up here in Canada are quite a bit more expensive than in the US, I've noticed. Probably because there are fewer people importing them..

Just wanted to say that after about 2hours i read this it is a really great tank and i was also thinking about starting a 180 but it wouldnt be reef it would be for a porcupine puffer. Anyways great tank.
